You would have to think that's what has happened in this instance - someone has removed the original and redone their own "auto". Never tried it myself, so can't confirm if it is possible but don't think it would be that hard.

you could always "rub" off the ink..

whiteboard marker brings off perm marker on such surfaces...

alcohol or acetone (nail polish remover) will remove any permanent marker quite easily (which is why white board makers remove it they have an alcohol solvent in them ) ...yes yes i know im a nerd
