Newbie wanting to start collecting

Been lurking through the threads here and am looking to start collecting!

Just a quick question should I wait for the new cards in July and pick them up or should I get started with the series already out?

And you'd certainly be wasting you money on the current set. Give Traders a miss and wait a few weeks for the new release.

I'm only interested in the titans I'm not so interested in full sets year after year....yet

The base sets are pretty easy to come by, cheap to buy or pretty straightforward to collect. As far as Titans inserts go, not too many great cards in recent Select sets - Ryan James (Dynasty) & Kevin Gordon (Strike) signatures about the best, and very nice cards by the way. Nothing in Traders so fingers crossed for the Elite release.

Should I just buy complete sets of what I want from places like Gold Coast cards etc, or should I buy a box? (I do like the idea of buying a box and trading with other collectors as well as getting lucky)

Boxes are good fun. Gets you a base set, and spot on - trade bait and the chance of a bit hit.

Haha I actually have lived in Japan a couple of times and was into the gundam trading cards over there.... That and the Pokemon cards I had as a youngster

Thanks mate! Do you buy your cards online or are there local places to pick up boxes?

Only started this year, Busted all of this years cards myself but just bought previous years online and through trades on here, most people on here are friendly theres the odd few that arent but thats life. If your looking at busting boxes defs wait to see if any case shares come up with the new release because the ratios of cards in it should be good for the price. If your pumping in $130odd for a box your looking at 66% chance of cracking a signature card so even if its a card you dont need (ie not a titans card) you should be able to sell or trade on here so wont walk away behind if anything in front on some cases.

Who's your favourite player? I'm a cowboys fan. So always followed Thurston..... These days I follow Tariq Sims more..... If he can get through another few years without breaking anymore legs... He'll do really well!!

P.S. go the box bust. Usually you'll get a complete base set and whatever extras you don't need you can trade.

Cheers! It's always hard to pin it down to just one player... I like Srama and bird and probably idris( more so for the fact that I always seem to run into him during nights out and he was pretty chilled lol.)
