New Year's Addition!

Arrived in the mail today....................the Second last addition to my NBA at 50 Autograph list!


One of the hard ones to get, and he has no NBA Card with a certified auto, so I thought this was the next best thing...........

Pete Maravich PSA/DNA Certified Signature!

Unfortunately it does not have the inscription of "Pistol" with the sig.

Now the only one left is Kevin McHale..................I am waiting for UD or Topps to sign him up so they can produce an Auto Card with him on it.

I think i read in Beckett one of the companies (Topps or Upper) were buying a bunch of Maravich stuff to put cut sigs in their cards. Mmmm!

I was thinking that might be the way for me to go to get a Maravich, but then, if they only produce maybe 30-50 cards with his auto on it............what would the demand be like for something like that? The price would be out of this world!

I know it's rude to ask but what did the Pistol auto set you back and through what channels did you source it??

***TRIVIA*** The cheque was signed only 2 years and 1 month (roughly) before he died....Jan 5th 1988.

FYI ....Press Pass Legends which is due out soon is rumoured to have a Pete Maravich auto inserted into packs....I'll guess we will have to wait and see.

McHale did TTM autos years ago and it worth a try Ersk. I have one in my PC :-D

Nice on the Pistol and Reggie. Those chqz have been showing up a lot lately from retired players PSA/DNA.

Yeah, I am sure his wife wanted was short of cash after he died, so she decided to get the cashed cheques back from the bank.

You are entitled to get the cheques that you write, back from the bank. Once they are cashed, they are sent back to the issuing bank. There, it is stored, but I am unsure for how long, and you can recover them back.

There are a few of Pete's around. I think his wife was selling them with a certificate.

ABout the McHale auto, can you send me a picture of the card and some details about them, so I know what to look out for?

Yeah I've heard of a stack of them coming out too. Chq's dont get as much love as some autos but beggars can't be choosers. The Pistol should be worth about $400US.

I'll scan the McHale I have later but be careful with ones on eBay. I've had mine for about 10 years and it was sent from McHale but some of the ones claimed to be TTM autos of McHale are really suss. More likely fakes and played off as TTM autos. He does do signings for that huge auto place that I have my Bird/McHale/Parish auto ball from. They are legit with pics of him signing the product and dated etc.

Sending a TTM request to McHale c/o the Timberwolves is worth a try and my sticky on TTM autos can be found on the forum here.

WOW What and EXCELLENT pickup of Pete Maravich Ersk.That is so cool... Just love that Oddball stuff....
