Hi Everyone,

The Penrith Panthers recently auctioned off their Anzac Day Match Worn Jerseys for 2 great causes, with the funds being split between Mose Masoe and his rehab costs in the UK and also the Men of League Foundation.

I was lucky enough to grab the jersey worn by Isaah Yeo from the match and it shows some minor wear and tear and is signed on the front. Seems I have a knack of ending up with the Panthers Captains jerseys as this now goes alongside a Kevin Kingston and a Peter Wallace in the Panthers Match Worn Jersey collection!

What made the pick up even better was I was invited to come and collect the jersey (and meet Isaah) and do a tour of the Panthers Academy, then meet the rest of the players after training and was also allowed to bring my son along which was great!

Have to say the players are such a great group of people and were really approachable and loved to have a chat.

EDIT - also added this one as well (which was in its own thread)

Anyway, was nice to be able to add these to the collection!

Cheers

Awesome jersey, I was actually bidding on it as well but decided to pass as it was getting abit over budget. Did end up with another jersey though so will put up a post once it is delivered.

They all sold very well at the end!

I spoke to one of the managers there and he said there were a heap of queries about if they were match worn or spares etc. being auctioned and he said they only had 30 jerseys available 1-21 were used (17 match worn and the other 5 were player issued). The rest were team signed for sponsors etc. He said the players had one jersey only the ones auctioned off were the match worn ones.

Nearly 12..... he has been going since he was about 5 or so to games but since last year his interest has grown a lot in the game and now he has met the players its gone to another level!
I dearly remeber going to Easts leagues club in the early 70s, and meeting artie and some of ther players back then, some cherished memories with my dad and grandfather.

Spot on thats what its all about..... i went to Panthers games in the 80's and 90's with my parents and am now doing the same with my kids..... love it!

My dad took me to a game at Penrith Park mid 70s. Always a bloodbath in the crowd. I was about 4. A blue in the crowd ended up on top of me! I didnt want to go back for couple of years. Later on at Penrith Park (mid 80s) Sinclair Ford had his double decker bus on the hill. My old man knew John? Sinclair and we used to sit up there banging the sides of the bus, yelling out the window thinking i was the King of penrith Park. (Especially when my team Wests played). Then late 80s my old man's work got a box in the new grandstand and it was even better!! Especially with the top Panthers team they had. ...Then as a young adult (19-21) frequenting the leagues club many Fri and Sat nites, see the players drunk or in fights etc or drunkingly avoiding getting into a fight with a player. (They were well looked after by security and had a free reign to do what they wanted!!). That is my penrith memories. (As a mad magpie supporter).

Heard plenty of stories about shenanigan's of those late 80's early 90's team....

- The star who was having "relations" in my old bosses front garden in Penrith......
- The star player who wrote off his car on a Saturday night and managed to escape any charges...... in unrelated news a big box arrived on the following Monday morning at a Western Suburbs Police station with signed boots, jerseys, season tickets etc. for the officers on duty the previous Saturday night.......
- The 2 star players who had a fight at a local pub where pool cues, chairs were used etc....and my old Cricket Coach ended up having 2 90's Test/Origin Enforcers trying to belt the daylights out of him!

Thank god social media wasn't around then...... im sure every club was the same.

I could name you a few that were clearly more than drunk. Lol.

Star player who drove home drunk with police escort who then helped him into his house. Mate was concreting his driveway at 7 in the morning when it happened!
The Pioneer at Kingswood was another place where u get into a fight with a player, win or lose, security then belted u up and threw u out.
People loved them, respected them and feared them. Good times.

After not adding any jerseys to the PC last year, this year managed to grab another 2 Panthers signed match worn jerseys for the collection.

Both of these jerseys were worn in round 12 against the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium where the Panthers won 15-4.

The jerseys have been washed but you can still see some staining on them in person.

Pretty happy to grab both of these players:

Glad to add these to the collection and crosses a few more off the list that I'm chasing.

Cheers
