Decided! I am going with Damon Stoudamire for my new PC. PLease let me know what you have and check my bucket or hit me up for player trades etc. Cheers.

While I enjoy breaking boxes I am basically a player collector, I like being able to have 1, 2 or 3 cards from each different release so you get a bit of everything in your collection.

Apart from contemporary player Wesley Matthews, I collect Chuck Person and really enjoy finding the 90s and 00s cards, not all autos and GU, just nice inserts etc. It is cheap and fun to find the difficult to find cards. I have 75% of Person's cards now so the hunt is slowing down.

So in short, I am looking to start another retro player collection. I have narrowed it down to a few players with lots of cards that I liked from back in my day (that is when I first started following the NBA). They are not superstars (ie I like David Robinson but his cards can be quite expensive).

Short list is:
Clifford Robinson: Portland (mainly) former 6th man of the year, high scorer good shooter, used to get in punch ups at practice because so competitive.

Damon Stoudamire: Toronto, Portland (mainly), former ROY short man, lots of scoring and assists early, settled into being a role player. former jailblazer (thats a down side).

Michael Finley: Dallas (mainly) fun scorer and high flyer early in career, played for a few teams, settled into role at Spurs.

Thought about Charles Barkley but again too high profile which means expense.

So, any other ideas, discuss my choices.

Clifford Robinson sounds like a top choice, never known anyone to collect him. He was one of the most versatile big guys and could play the 3, 4 & 5. Not to mention his 16 odd years of NBA service.

Barkleys aren't expensive at all if you shy away from the GUs AUs and #ed under 100.
If you do choose barkley, I can help start you off with 350 cards (all different).
I've got about 700 of his cards myself, which is a little over 50% of his cards I believe. I love collecting him.

COMC is a great site for player collectors.

Good luck with whoever you choose.

Agree with all the above. I am leaning that way at the momemt.

Love them all. Of the 3 I'd do Finley.

But could I add one to the mix? I have always thought of going for this one but not, so maybe one for you.........Antonio McDyess.

Yes McDyess was on my slightly longer short list.
If you do Clifford Robinson, I have a LOT of cards to get you started :D
That is a very tempting reason to start with Cliff. I will let you know, cheers.

Go D Stoudamire his cards are well priced "well most"
Ah man, now leaning back towards mighty mouse!

I like all 3! Others I'd consider, Mashburn, Webber, Tracy Murray, Stacey Augmon and Glen Rice.
Considered all of those too, If I was to collect a FabFive alum it would be Jalen Rose. And Glen Rice is a nother great option!

All good advice guys, still weighing it up.

Of your choices I like Michael Finley, but of the other option I really like Glen Rice. If I started another PC (which I hope not 2 and I've slowly slipped from 2 to 4 recently), I'd definitely start PC'ing Rice of Mitch Richmond.

I can help you with a few Daman cards too, basically any Blazer, I'll have something to help you with base and insert wise :) Just follow your heart :D
