New member intro's

As they say "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink"....but surely there is a way to get our new members to start off their Ozcards careers with an intro?? (Without stickng a hose down their throats!!)
It seems to be happening quite regularly at the moment, that new members are starting off with sale threads etc.

Pretty sure I seen a mod on another forum that made users post intros before they could post elsewhere..

At the end of the day - does it really matter ? I mean as you say, you can ask them to post intros and the welcome PM and emails they receive have a message along the lines of "Before you do anything else, please post an intro in the New Member Intros forum", but i'm not really into the whole "forcing" people to post something.

And they don't seem to like being asked to do so it appears either. I'd prefer that the eBay id is compulsory and any other trading sites user id's made known. After all they tell more of a story for us in a trading site where trust and reputation are important.
