I had this Aquariam especially made up for me a few months ago but im now moving house and its just no longer practical for me to complete the project i had planned.
Its made of the highest quality 12mm glass (slightly blue tint glass, cost me $550 alone for the sheets) it was cut to size and made by Gippy Glass in Korumburra at another cost of $215. It has not been used at all, i was planning on building a big pine cupboard to sit underneath it and a frame to go around the outside. The Glass tank weighs approx 60kg as it is very thick 12mm glass. Will just fit in the back of a family sedan.
Asking $475ono, Can be viewed at Mt Waverley for the next 2 weeks until I move, if not sold here in a few days will ebay it.
Cheers Guys,
Brad
EDIT: Just a bump people, i'll take $400 for it.......its on ebay end of this week if it doesnt sell, cheers
Hey, good luck with the tank sale, it looks like a beautiful aquarium.
Unfortunately you will struggle to get the $$$$ your after through eBay, as no one will realise the true value of this tank. I only say this to give you a heads up on what I believe will happen. Why do I think this, well you can get a 4x2x2 in 12mm glass professionally made for approx $375.
Your tank is way over engineered for what is required of a 3fter, in which 6mm glass will suffice and hence only cost $110 new( you could even do 4mm sides with a 6mm base cheaper again).
I reckon you should revive the project and bring out the true glory of this tank, what had you originally planned?
Yeah i know mate, just thought i would try and get some of the $$$ back for it, im not going to go any lower than $400 cause of what it owes me. Originally i had planned it for the office space in my bedroom and was going to build a pine cupboard to sit it on, with the filters ect in the cupboard below, and frame the entire tank with a routed lid to attach the lights...... but the new place doesnt really have a good spot for it (4th floor unit) if it doesnt sell ill put it down at my mums place and finish it one day hahaha
