PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR THE POLL QUESTION... ALSO PLEASE GIVE A REASON FOR YOUR SELECTION!

Was a little bored and decided to scan all of my Treasury Mini Logoman 1/1's together.

Also I am wondering what everyone thinks about how I should case my Mini Logomen as there are no top loaders, magnetics, or screw downs specifically designed for them. They make holders for mini cards, but not for thick mini cards

So currently I have them in 80 pt Pro Mold Magnetics with white pieces of paper behind it. The problem that I have with this method are that the cards are pressed up against the holders and I am worried the fronts will start peeling/speckling. Some examples:

What I am thinking of doing is putting the cards on top of Rip Cards with the backs entirely peeled off. They could then go into 100 pt magnetics and the front would not be pressed against the magnetic. The card could also not move around because there are small indents in the rip cards that can safely hold the mini logomen.

Some examples:

The border around the Logoman obviously doesn't look as smooth as the plain paper. Here is what the back would look like:

But obviously not of Michael Redd. I would get the player on the rip card to match the player on the Logoman. So it would cost a little bit more money to use the rip cards to hold the Logomen but it's not that big of an issue.

Piece of paper on the back:
PROs:
Looks smoother and cleaner from the front
Card does not shake around at all

CONs:
Back is just white and sort of boring
Card may peel in the smaller magnetic

Rip card on the back:
PROs:
Has an indent to hold the card (makes it easier and neater to take in and out)
Sort of cool to have the player on the back to match the player on the front
Card will not peel

CONs:
Card may shake around a little but not a big deal
Will cost a little more money
Front looks less smooth (still some glue and a little bumpy)

Let me know what you think!

Thanks,
Andrew

whats on the back of the mini logomen cards? I have a suggestion.... in my box of UD 08-09 I just cracked, in about 6 of the packs I got a piece of plain white card, the same size as a normal UD card, but 3 times as thick (as thick as a jersey card). If you are skilled with a scalpel you could cut out the plain white card so the mini logomen card sits flush inside it, basically so the white plain card is creating a border.

by the way, whats a rip card?

Haha been through that. It is very hard, frustrating, time consuming, and I can never get the right cuts. And doing it 16 times would be awful.

My question is were are you keeping these? Box? on display? To me they look great the way they are with nothing behind them.

They are in a safe, so not on display. Right now they have the piece of paper behind them. It may be hard to notice because I took the photos over a white background.

I would put them in the case in such a way that you can see the front and the back. this way you have no reason to open the case.

mate this is the way to go with out question, you shouldnt even be entertaining other thoughts, it wouldnt be too hard getting the filler pieces and you will have enough to practice...doing it this way you will be able to see the front and the back and you wouldnt have to worry about anything touching

I have tried time and time again and it is near impossible to get it perfect. And I am sort of a perfectionist so I cant stand when the cut is slightly off. Seeing the back isn't a big deal for me.

Damn they look sick all together like that and what a hell of a situation to be in! Maybe you could get onto the company that make holders for mini cards and petition them to make em for thick mini cards :D

Haha they said it would cost me $5000 to get custom mini magnetics/screw-downs made lol.

Maybe you could go with that idea but get the filler pieces professionally cut.... OR just send me that sick a$$ kobe and I could have a try for you :D

Should have guessed you have tried that avenue  I wonder how many that $5g would buy, you could become the sole distributor of those holders

Haha... Also the filler cards are very dense cardboard and really hard to cut through.

$5K is just the initial cost to make the mold lol. Being the sole distributor of holders that only 30 cards fit in wouldn't really do me any good lol.

LOL just trying to put a positive spin on it for you! I am sure your cards are probably safe as they are, but could see why you would be a little paranoid with such a sick set! Hope that safe is fireproof!

Why dont you just get them slabbed by BGS?

Several reasons...
1. Don't want to risk it getting lost or stolen by USPS
2. Don't want to risk it getting lost or stolen at BGS
3. Even if I got them slabbed, (in case of a fire) the inside plastic would melt all over the card in my fireproof safe

i like the look of them now with the paper behind, if your worries about the fron scratching can you use a bit of paper and a penny sleeve for the mini?
