So, I need to cut down what I'm spending on cards and the best way I can think to is to cut down what I'm actually collecting.
So do I select a Nuggets player to collect, do I narrow in on a certain type of card as just "autos" is too broad and there's too much to buy and I spend too much. Do I find a player from another team to collect.
I don't know what to do, I'm kind of lost and losing interest in cards. So I need to shake it up. I need some advice to keep me interested.
This is the PC if anyone wants to check it out to see if they have any interest in any cards.
I had to change up a few times too recently, to keep interested.
Just narrow it down in different ways. I am doing 1 set chase (Superscribes) and On Card autos only of Magic and D Rob.
Not too much that I am constantly buying, and not like they are too rare either. I won't do a 'full' player PC again because I too often overspend on rare cards that I only want because of the player, not the design.
Perhaps you could choose 1 retired player (Alex English, David Thompson) and one current player and just limit them to On Card autos, patches, tags and 1/1s
That way you have a heap to collect and not too many at the same time?!?
Collect something that isn't so easy to come by and where you can't dump loads of money on everyday. I started my Mav auto collection where I got just one auto (in progress) of each player to have pull on a uni. Its a finite amount to collect and can be hard to track down some player's autos. Maybe an older set that doesn't pop up all the time and wont cost you a bunch. My example of this is 02/03 Topps jersey Edition, I am 2 away from this large set (std variation) but have been only looking sporadically over the years.

I think collecting Thompson or English or Lever, a retired guy, is a no brainer. The only thing with current players is that I know if they change teams I won't want to collect them anymore i.e. DeJuan Blair
I definitely want to start a set chase too.
Just seeing what other opinions people have, I'm sure I'm not the first person the be at this point
Easy brother. Just like life itself, set yourself a challenge. Eg 10 Blake griffin autos by the end of the year.
Add your own criteria, on card, RC, patch, what evs.
Only thing keeping me going these days.
Well that, the hilarious prices people want for cards and pretty much every single thread on BO (good for a chuckle) plus the few guys around here that I kinda grew up with.
I set out to collect Faried because my favourite player in Kobe was too expensive, and wanted someone that I didn't have to play catch up on years lost to collect (instead i got the 25 million releases from panini a year - not sure if my logic worked out the way i wanted it too ). Aside from that I keep my reggie miller collection to low end inserts more or less and that way I can buy stuff without spending a fortune. Maybe go with someone like Ty lawson, you seem to have a good head start on him?
