Hi everyone,

I'm working on a little side project of mine and I had to come up with a list of the top 2 NRL legends for each team. These players can't be current players but can be from any era.

As an example if I had to choose Penrith's top 2 legends it would be likely be Greg Alexander and Royce Simmons.

Anyone care to put forward who they think the top 2 legends for their teams are?

Cheers
Matt

Tough one... Mal Meninga and Laurie Daley I guess, only because they've got statues at Canberra Stadium so must be good haha

I guess for Dragons you would most likely have these two Reg gasnier, Johnny raper if not Graeme Langlands

Thanks everyone for the feedback......how does this list look to people?

Top 2 legends (not currently playing) per team.....

Broncos: Wally Lewis - Darren Lockyer
Raiders: Laurie Daley - Mal Meninga
Bulldogs: Terry Lamb - Steve Mortimer
Sharks: Andrew Ettingshausen - Steve Rogers
Titans: Preston Campbell - Mat Rogers
Sea Eagles: Bob Fulton - Steve Menzies
Storm: Glenn Lazarus - Stephen Kearney
Knights: Andrew Johns - Paul Harragon
Cowboys: Paul Bowman - Laurie Spina
Eels: Brett Kenny - Peter Sterling
Panthers: Greg Alexander - Royce Simmons
Rabbitohs: Clive Churchill - John Sattler
Dragons: Reg Gasnier - Johnny Raper
Roosters: Arthur Beetson - Brad Fittler
Warriors: Stacey Jones - Logan Swann
Tigers: Arthur Summons (Wests) - Keith Barnes (Tigers)

The Tough ones were the younger clubs.... Cowboys/Warriors/Titans...

Cheers
Matt

A big NO! to Logan Swann. Stacey Jones is a given, but the other spot is hard given their short and mediocre history. To me it would be between Campion (because his signing changed the culture of the club in a positive way, with great results) or Ali Lauiti'iti who along with Stacey is the only true superstar that has ever been at the club. (I'm still devastated he left the NRL) Ali and Stacey would be the only two that could have been considered best in the NRL in their position during their strongest years. I like the Ali and Stacey combo because they both came through our system; they weren't bigger stars elsewhere like Campion, Wiki and Price.

Nick, as far as Michael Luck - he is my favourite player to wear the Warriors jersey, but he will go down as an honest workhorse rather than a superstar

Thanks guys....its hard with the younger clubs.... probably right about Wiki being a suitable replacement.

cheers

It's pretty subjective, I like most of what you have listed, but here's some variations for thought:

For South's McCarthy instead of Sattler. McCarthy holds the record for most games and MBE , Australian selector etc

Dragons:Too many but for me maybe: Langlands and Provan

Manly: Ken Irvine instead of Menzies as he was in the TOC (although not a 1 club player) perhaps Eadie then, but personally Cliff Lyons. I like Beaver (in more ways than one) but there's better players IMO.

Parra; not sure how you could leave Price out, so probably at Kenny's expense,

Cowboys:Matt Sing instead of Spina who only played his final year at Cowboys
