I need a bit of help here fellas - for the first time ever, something I've sent to the States looks like it's disappeared.
A guy won a KG 05-06 exquisite base from me for $6 + $4 airmail postage - they usually take 7-10 days and as of today it's been 13 and the guy just contacted me saying it hasn't shown - he has 500+ with 99% rating and no negatives all yr so he's clean as a whistle. I've just replied saying wait a few more days but am worried......
He paid via paypal - just wanna know if it doesn't show up what are my options? I didn't list any moneyback guarantees or anything in the auction but I figure my best option is just to pay him back the $10??
man the postal system is not an exact science, tell him to wait about 3 weeks THEN he can think about claiming. some of my stuff has taken 4-5 days, some takes over 3 weeks.
Yeah, I agree tell him to wait atleast another week or two and see if the shows up. I live in the USA and send cards all around the world and it can take up to 3-4 weeks sometimes. If he doesn't get that card maybe you could offer him something else of the same value.
He'll file a claim. Show paypal a receipt saying you've sent it (if you have one.)
Chances are, he'll get a refund, and the card will show up after 1 1/2 months and you're screwed. That's the negative side of selling overseas. (no registered post)

Yep Paypal will debit you with exactly the amount he paid you.
This happened to me before... a clown filed a complaint while I was overseas during my wedding. I sent a package locally via registered post and he said he didnt receive it. I wasn't able to respond as I was extremely busy... in the end, he got his money back and my paypal had a negative balance.
Do this-
Send the buyer an email, telling him you sent it (during this date) and that you are hoping it gets to him. Tell him he can file a paypal claim if it still doesn't arrive after 35 days or so (40 days is the paypal deadline)... tell him you'll gladly refund if it doesn't arrive during that period but ask him nicely to PAY if it does arrive after.
No other way really.. just be nice. His positive feedback will see you through.
Thanks mate - I'll do just that - hopefully it shows - NZ-US postage has always been pretty consistent - apart from the odd customs opening experience when it's been 30 days
Send him a nice email asking for some time, if all else fails, offer him a refund and ask that he remakes the payment if it does turn up. His feedback is telling us he is honest so go for that. That's what I'd do anyway. Remember, he is the buyer here and the customer is always right! lol.
