I am currently unhappy with the current job i am at because of a few factors but in particular the fact that they are hiring a person who is less experienced than me but will be earning the same if not more than me.
Don't you just hate that. It happens, it happens. And they wonder why staff get demotivated and leave.
Man, tough choice indeed bud. But it's never good to be unhappy at work, I know that for a fact.
Like already said, only you know what is right.
But I say go with what you will "enjoy" doing in the end. Money isn't everything, and days will just be as long and boring, no matter what you get paid. Sure, it might make you happy for a while, but after a while, extra money is just extra money.
Ace, have you checked to see if your current employer offers career breaks.
They may let you take 6 to 12 months off (without pay) and that way you can see if you like working for yourself but still have a job to go back to (or the time to find another one) if driving delivery trucks isn't your thing.
You don't need to tell them why you need the break and if they want to know say it is for travel
Just a quick update, i didnt buy the business and did resign from my job . I will be looking for work locally (but am currently enjoying being unemployed) ..... what really sucks though is that card budget has gone to 0.00 , but the time off has been worth every cent. I miss posting here but when i do log on there is so much to read and so many amazing cards.
We decided the business wasnt for us and the break is very welcomed. I will be looking for something in Finance as ANZ, Bank West and a few other large institutions have moved into a business park 2 sets of lights away , i have never worked that close to home (11 yrs of 3hr per day travel door to door from the city) , if i get a job close to home i will be able to come home for lunch .
