It's sad that this is my first post since mid 2012, I'd prefer my first post back to be a welcome message to a new member or say "nice card" in the mailday thread but that's not the case.
I decided to get back into the hobby & start picking up a few more items on eBay and one of those items was on eBay Australia as seen below but I failed to see the sellers location.
The card was located in Brisbane and the description says payment within 3 days which is great, what a great way to ease back into the hobby by buying within Australia thinking I will make a smooth transaction.
Then this 2 days later after paypal put a hold on the payment which is standard practice for sales within Australia because he is from the States and has no sales within Australia.
the next day this message which makes no sense turns up in my inbox
We exchange words and I explain that paypal put payments on hold within Australia until the item has been received and the customer is happy which he knew nothing about until I sent him a link to the paypal section explaining this. I then go on to threaten action against him through eBay in a polite way as well as refusing to cancel the sale through eBay because I want the card I paid for but he has sent the refund which is now on hold by paypal funnily enough.
We exchange email addresses and discuss the issue through there and it turns out that he is over here for work but heading back to the States on Monday. His eBay account is registered in the States and the card was listed as located in Brisbane Queensland which I didn't know you could do. The email address supplied through paypal links to a name Kyrie Han, the emails I have been receiving are from a Shu Han and the name on the paypal account is Yuejiao Zhang.
Excuse me? I never put this card on eBay.au. I sell the card on eBay.com and becoz I got this card here last month, so I thought I could sell it here for shipping purpose. But this card was on eBay.com. I'm not quit sure what are you talking about.... And I don't want argue with u anymore. I already gave u a refund becoz of the fact that I didn't want to wait up to 21days for the payment clear. Anything would happen, and I don't have the time to wait. So I would explain to eBay about this issue when I go back. No need to reply me. And please don't waste our time on this shit.
Now by this stage I'm just as confused as you are and if you've made it this far I thank you for reading but I need some advice on what to do now because paypal have put a hold on his refund and I'm thinking that the refund will not clear and he has scored a nice little $88US.
Any advice besides interrogating sellers before I buy within Australia would be great.
Well I scored the same card for less today which makes me feel a bit better.
This bad experience has taught me a new lesson though, I was not aware that overseas sellers could list an item as located in Australia so next time I will be checking the sellers location first.
Called PayPal a couple of days ago and because the card was listed in Australia under a U.S. account and he has less than 20 sales in Australia all local payments to him go on hold until the customer receives the item/s and feedback has been left.
The seller did not want to wait until I received the card and wanted the money ASAP, he was not aware of this PayPal procedure so he cancelled the purchase and refunded my money.
He recently left me positive feedback but I'm thinking of just leaving a neutral as apposed to negative feedback, after all he did refund the money and leave positive feedback.
