Need advice/help. Ebay sales.

I sold brand new basketball box (worth $400+) to a buyer (same state: NSW), then I sent it on the next day with flat rate ebay satchel + signature required. Item was sent 03/01/13.

Buyer contacted me yesterday saying item still not arrive (08/01/13), then he opened dispute INR with paypal.

The tracking only showing that item In Transit.

Buyer demanded refund and then escalated this to paypal.

I have contacted australia post and they said will investigate this.

What should I do now ?
 
In Transit means it hasn't arrived yet I believe.

For example, I have some Registered mail waiting to be picked up and on the Aus Post website, is had been updated from "In Transit" to "Awaiting Collection"

Buyer is a bit quick to start going through PayPal to get the money back.
 
Gee good luck with that man. Let's hope he escalated the case just because he's an inexperienced buyer. All the best dude.
 
Sometimes Australia post screw things up man, I've sent over a few things to peeps on eBay about a month ago and I know they received based on them leaving me feedback but I had this one chargeback claim and found the tracking info so I can forward to PayPal.
Turns out still "In Transit" so I checked a bunch of the ones actually delivered and same thing "In Transit" so chargeback got credited to buyer and I lost out on a couple hundred dollars.

I even contacted the buyer through getting eBay info and when I said I'm a seller from eBay they said I think u got the wrong number.

So in all honesty if it was next day delivery I honestly think u have a scum who got the box and checked tracking on it and saw the status, well then he did it otherwise I don't think he would have escalated it so quick.

Sorry man but prepare for the worse :(
 
/\/\ but if he has to go pick it up from the post or sign for it, then sooner or later there will be proof that someone got the box? or is paypal that ridiculous? stoopid question i guess...

maybe it has arrived and they purposefully havnt picked it up from the PO so that its not signed for? Sounds wrong to escalate a claim so quickly, it always makes you suspicious of their intentions if that happens.

unfortunately ebay always side with the buyer, but you have a 5 days or so after the dispute is closed and then you can dispute it, so maybe just hope that they sign for it and you can then provide tracking info.

Then maybe it would be worth Jason's time to ring the local PO near the delivery address and do a bit of snooping, you never know what my come up..

I had packages signed for and they still found in the buyers favour.

same in NSW. around 450 km+ away approx. 5 hrs drive.

I don't really have time to drive there since I got full time job and family with small kids.
 
Paypal sided with the buyer and refunded the money to the buyer.

Post office finished their investigation and could not find the parcel.

I learnt my hard lesson not to send anything with eparcel (click and send)
 
If the buyer got chargeback then the paypal should raise red flag with mastercard/visa and sin bin them from using paypal with credit or debit card with mastercard or visa logo on. I am surprised paypal did not do anything. I know most online payment does raise red flag. Why not paypal do the same? Stupid paypal! If I see a buyer chargeback I will dispute and raise red flag and forward it to mastercard or visa to pressure them to put them on ban list from using paypal. Also they will be banned from purchasing my item on ebay permanently. So please be careful next time though. I am sorry to see that happen and I felt for you its really annoys me big time.
