I agree with your sentiment that it's early days and it could be huge. And in that regard the comparison with BTC is fair enough but you didn't have to sit glued to a computer with .00001 milliseconds to buy your BTC.

Could someone kindly explain what a bot is in regards to ordering? I thought it was a person just mashing a button.

They program "robots" bots, to make it look like different people and order a bunch.

Separate addresses, payment details, but ultimately the same person.
