Just for kicks Matty and I have decided we would have ourselves a little fun.
Decided to make us a short NBA season (29 games) 6 min quarters, 4 fouls = foul out, hardest level, I'll be using Live 07 and Matty Live 05 with 07 roster update.
Now this isn't just about who has the best record and who can win a game and who wins the playoffs.... It's about a rivalry between Minnesota and Detroit... urged on by a live draft held in MSN Messenger.
Each player will modify both their team (Detroit - Matty, Minnesota - wolvey) and the team of their opponent in their respective platform to include the players selected under the following guidelines.
5 players from the beginning of the year for the 07 roster of the team selected must be retained (with anybody rated over 90 having to be drafted seperately as an additional member). Then a draft will be conducted for 7 rounds.
Matty's Detroit retained players are as follows: Chauncey, Rip, Tayshaun, Sheed, Amir Johnson
Wolvey's Minnesota retained players are as follows: Foye, McCants, Davis, James and Griffin (Garnett open to be drafted by anybody).
Through mutual agreement Wolvey gets the first pick.
#1 Minnesota selects Lebron James
#2 Detroit selects Tim Duncan
#3 Minnesota selects Kevin Garnett
#4 Detroit Selects Dywane Wade
#5 Minnesota selects Amare Stoudemire
#6 Detroit selects Jason Kidd
#7 Minnesota selects Ray Allen
#8 Detroit selects Dirk Nowitzki
#9 Minnesota selects Steve Nash
#10 Detroit selects Ron Artest
#11 Minnesota selects Kobe Bryant
#12 Detroit selects Allen Iverson
#13 Minnesota selects Carmelo Anthony
#14 Detroit Selects J Max
Starting Lineups to be adhered to were selected as follows:
In a surprise to all - especially me... who has trouble winning in Starter mode... having a team of superstars really helps.
KG 30pts from 15/21 shooting, and 11 Rebounds.
Nash 22pts and 10 Assits with 5 steals also.
Bryant 15 points and 11 Assists!
Stoudemire fouled out and I realised my bigman depth is lacking majorly... I only have one back up for towo big guys - woops - looks like Melo may be playing some PF from time to time.
Looks Good AJ I'm gonna starting playing again, though have only PS2...and Live 07 is jumpy in that cause was clearly made for PS3...I'll just play 06. hahaha
In a game where Delonte West started by hitting 3 straight 3 pointers, the Wolves struggled at first, falling as far as 16 points behind before finally taking the lead for the first time with two minutes to go. Momentum behidn them they went on to win the game.
Ray Allen scored 34 points coming on as a substitute when Bryant was forced to play the point because Nash wracked up the fouls. Allen also had 4 dimes.
Bryant continued his early season unselfishness with 15 points and what some say must be a record Bryant total of 12 assists.
The big men Stoudemire and Garnett both put up similar numbers. The former scoring 16pts, grabbing 12 boards and having two blocks. The latter scored 12, grabbed 11 and blocked 3.
T-Wolves 102 defeated Knicks 95
Ray Allen moved to the starting SG position, as the coach experimented with Kobe at the Point again. The results saw Allen put up another bag of points this time 33 and he added 11 assists also. Bryant was held innefectual, spending a lot of time on the bench after committing several fouls - Nash did his bit as consistently as ever. Lebron James finally hit double figures with 11 points and 5 dimes.
I thought Superstar was meant to be hard! Though I'm sure I'll hit a few snags - thought I was going to be blown out by Boston.
When playing, do any of you make adjustments to the sliders, to make it more realistic, or do you stick it on a setting (Superstar, etc) and run with defaults?
