Well, last night, I FINALLY got my ass to finish up editing a game from 2 weeks ago (Spurs @ Heat).

Edited it all out of ads, and even created chapters for each quarter.

Went to burn it to DVD, and it said that High Speed mode would not be functional as it would not fit on that quality (highest quality, was about 8GB!!)

Changed the quality, and it would fit onto the DVD with 1 min remaining... (hope future games are the same, or shorter), LESS the chapters.

So now it's a straight forward, self play DVD, with about 90% quality from the real stream from Austar. I say 90% cos the picture is very very slightly distorted from the original source. The sound quality is still great!!

Trying to get a screen shot of what it's like but of course when I pause the DVD (on Computer) it distorts.... EDIT: Tried, but screen shot was all black...??

Taping the WWE Royal Rumble today, hopefully it works too. :D Although in the manual (yeah I had to read it!!) it says that it will not record one-time only digital signals..... not sure exactly what this is.

Is anyone else using DVD Recorders????

Hey Mavs, theres a handy little program called DVD Shrink, so if you happen to make a DVD thats a little bigger than will fit on a disc you can shrink it to fit!!

Ill send you a copy in a white envelope if you want ?

Thanks bud. Use it all the time. However, it's recording the DVD from the Recorder that wont fit....

It tells me that the game is 8000Mb (8Gb) - APPROX, and the DVDs only hold approx 4Gb... I lowered the quality, and it fit.

If I could connect my DVD Recorder to my PC, I might have a better chance of shrinking it etc...

Any ideas??

Cos then it'd be shit.
That's like 6 discs for the All Star Weekend...

Oh and I forgot to mention that I had to watch it while it dubbed (Burnt to DVD) - I've gotta work it out FULLY yet. Hoping it might work better when taping today.

im pretty sure you can buy blank dvds that are 8 gig...saw them at harvey norman the other day :D..course might cost more....but if you want top quality then thats what id do :) if you want it on the 1 disc

How many floppys is that Scotty and can you box them up for me????

My dvd player doesn't like burnt discs to much it seems. :-P
