Ok ive been messaging this back and forth about the colour of this lebron james exquisite card.

The auto is faded it looks black these days not blue as they all are.

Hes heart is set on that this card was never signed in blue, it was signed in black making it a 1/1????? Basicaly i laughed.

Imo (some) of these exquisites the blue ink darkens over time if its expossed to sunlight maybe.
Then fades into a black sort of colour

Am i right here????

Could it have been a replacement for a damaged card??

Can someone shed some light into this?
Here are some pics

I think he knows it's faded just if anyone has any similar cards of blue auto fading into like a black colouration
We both agree that the card is faded,
The thing that was annoying me was that he keept telling me over & over that this card was NEVER signed in blue, it was signed in black.

Thats right, but he says it was a black pen auto.
he says its impossible that a blue auto would turn into something that looks like mine???
Been debated around here before with no conclusion. Slobby had a black Pippen Autographics which he swears is black (looks faded) although they were all signed in blue. I think it's just faded a faded blue sharpie. Makes no sense to have him auto one in black and then continue the rest in blue.

While theres no sure way to know if this card was signed in black or blue without older pictures, I would lean towards it being blue

But I can say with 100% certainty that most blue autos (not just Exquisites), when they fade will darken and end up looking navy/back, and will look like the Lebron if they fade even further

Have you seen in person that they fade to a black kenny?

I have not had any that have faded to the extent of the Lebron where the ink started to disappear, but I have owned a couple that have gotten to the point where they became closer to black/navy rather than blue

I did a quick search for faded autos and a lot of them do resemble the Lebron auto:
