Wow dude, very very impressive! I knew you were going to come up big with this, but you've outdone yourself. That's sweeeeet, and the slimeline model would be twice as nice, and there is some room to downsize the height even further if you wanted. Is the front plastic UV resistant? Really really impressed with the design, look and material.
Can I say, that is one awesome display case. Very versatile.
How does it hang up? Is there a recess for a hook? What is the weight of it too (filled up)?
Looks like something you can leave as a table top too.
Ersk
This looks really impressive, do you think a mirrored backing would be possible inside that unit?
mate thats absolutely fantastic...if you design them will you be able to colour co-ordinate...id like one that was black and red and so on.
well done though mate...$400 is a perfect price, i paid $350 to have this framed so your price is perfect
Very, very nice work there! Very adaptable, sleek and stylish. Demand is certainly the biggest issue in terms of it being a major success as a product, but it certainly a successful design. It would be a cool cabinet for collectors of small items in general (statuettes, snow domes, figurines etc.), as I'd say you'd be able to have a more versatile range of shelving. Did you think about having "dove tail" grooves in the backing rather than just straight grooves (obviously a bit harder to manufacture, but I wouldn't expect it to be that much more of a manufacturing issue), as you could then have sliding shelving units so that the display could be adjusted over time.
Lovit mate. Awsome idea having the cards slide into the shelves.
Let us all know if you decide to make any more mate I'm sure alot of ppl would be keen to acquire one.
Yeah ditto to all the previous threads it does look awesome.
The perfect design is always a series of iterations and ongoing refinement, I was wondering if you would perhaps allow for slightly differrent card configurations, not necessarily adjustable but manufactured to order.
I would be curious to see how it would come up if the clear acrylic shelves were black for example in an attempt to make them less visible.
Anyway again it looks awesome and that is a great skill you have,
Cheers

really lovely design and a great way to display your cards.
Hope you are able to get some interest .. i could possibly be interested in a smaller version if you are making different sizes.
Well done mate .. looks great!!
Well by the looks of it I will be making more!
I will sit down today or tomorrow and work out different sizes/models and work out pricing for each.
Then I will make a new thread and gauge interest on what people want.
I will have to look into the shipping thing though, and figure out what options are cheaper but also safer.
By the looks of them an outstanding product. I think there is a huge potential to sell a lot of them here and overseas. One question though, is the clear acrylic likely to discolour over time?
Great design, and fantastic finished product.
Couple of suggestions..
Some people tend to use stands to hold their cards up, a shallower design, without the recessed shelves might make the design more versitile to allow the collector to house their cards in different ways (have Portrait with Landscape, etc).
30 Cards is not a LOT but that's probably because of the size of the design. A bigger unit would def. be of interest to most I would assume.
You mentioned the unit being safe, how strong is the front face?
Are they dust free? What good is a front face if dust can settle inside the unit. (just a question, not a criticism).
Also, with postage, is it possible to post as a flat-pack design, it would weigh the same, but it would be a lot less in dimensions, and would reduce the costs.
Great work, I hope it takes off for you.
Is there any way to fix it together with brackets, and glue? That way a flatpack could be possible?
Just trying suggestions to help you out. If something is going to cost $100 to move around the country, it will deter a few buyers.
