Took me a while writing all these up, did it for personal satisfaction though, it's just been fun. I've been playing with this since the release of NBA Live 2006, hence the not most updated version of the game I have been using. I've played with many different dynasties, I decided to stick with this one, began it using the Fantasty Draft option. I've been playing the Dynasty season type, on superstar level, 6 minute quarters on NBA Live 06.

I do have some screenshots that I will upload with photobucket and then show. I am quite the ultimate gamer when it comes to NBA Live.

However I tend to get bored of players, which is why I've traded off a lot of key players in my dynasty from Stephon Marbury to Ben Gordon to Michael Redd to Caron Butler to Stromile Swift to Josh Howard.

Now though, I'm in my 5th season, and lots of players have retired, and young players start to really improve. I currently have Gerald Green as my starting small forward and he's improved his rankings, to be a 78 currently and Delonte West has been my starting point guard for three seasons, and he has seen his improvement rank him as 70.

I did not re-sign Kevin Garnett at the conclusion of the 2009/10 season, because his decline from being rated 98-92 over the four seasons had really seen my team suffer. He had been the man, and now he picked up a lot more fouls, as a pose to blocking shots on defense and that's really the main reason why I had a huge drop off in my success in the last season, although veteran skills helped me win my fourth consecutive championship.

As a result, I didn't re-sign Kevin Garnett and I re-signed Gerald Green and Delonte West to hefty contracts. I then did a huge trade, getting rid of Michael Redd and a few other key players, for Amare Stoudemire. He is my new big man and he seems to be developing well in my newest MVP campaign season. Francisco Garcia has also recently moved up to the starting SG spot as a defensive specialist and consistent perimeter shooter.

In the 2010/2011 season which I am playing now, I am the #1 team currently on a 18 game winning streak. Amare Stoudemire is my leading scorer, rebounder and shot-blocker and is up in the top 3 in the MVP race while Delonte West has emerged as an emotional leader who hits clutch shots, and he is ranked in league leaders in three pointers made, and is my second leading scorer at (21.3 ppg). Gerald Green is the future superstar of the franchise, and does a bit of everything with Tracy Mcgrady flair.

youve inspired me jim...just started a fantasy draft on nba live 05 today, and got a decent team out of it:

starting 5:

C - Chris Kaman
PF - Amare Stoudemire
SF - Josh Smith
SG - Kobe Bryant
PG - Mike James

Key Reserves: Manu Ginobili, Udonis Haslem, Glen Rice, Al Jefferson, Leandro Barbosa, Nenad Krstic.

Started out on All Star difficulty but the friggin computer cheats its ass off. was killing the lakers first game of the season, up by 16 at half time. 2nd half the friggin CPU starts knocking down fade away jumpers from half court with four defenders in his face (and this is like 40 yr old scottie pippen absolutely schooling my whole team, bastard finished with 36 pts)...that kind of shit. and of course my team couldnt buy a bucket, kobe shot 9/29 and he was the high scorer

the stupid thing is i kill every team by 50 pts on starter difficulty, as soon as it gets to all star the CPU cheats and i cant win even 50% of the games. sooooo annoying.

Ha Ha you're very inspiring - I normally steer clear of Fantasy Drafts...

But today I started a fantasy dynasty also....

I took Lebron James with the number 1 overall draft cos he will only get better while Garnett's light fades...

My starting 5:

C: Z. Pachulia
PF: Elton Brand
SF: Lebron James
SG: Michael Redd
PG: Jason Williams

Reserves include: Tyrus Thomas, Jason Kapono, Wally Szczerbiak, Joe Smith, Christian Laettner, Brent Barry, Anthony Goldwire

I went for 3 point makers as a result a little light on in the big men - I'll prolly play Thomas at PF and try and develop him.

I didn't check my settings so I lost a 3 min quarter game 50 - 51 against a Nugget team that had Stoudamire and Rasheed Wallace in the starting lineup... I'll be switching to 5 or 6 min quarters tomorrow.

Haha you need to get updated bro!

2005?! Damn that's 1/5 of a decade ago, hahaha

Yeah, when you play fantasy draft you normally get out quite a good lineup.

For me I tend (don't ask me why) to trade away heaps of my good players for role players, just because I find it more realistic that way, and I don't want some great stars to go downhill by me keeping them on the bench!!

Who's this anthony goldwire dude? haha he sounds familiar...

Sorry to jump thread, but wanted to see if you guys shared a common beef....

I love playing these games (Live & 2K), but do you ever go to the trouble to get all the teams with the right trades, etc, and start a season, only to go 5 games, and a Trade in the REAL NBA is pulled off, and you're teams aren't right anymore?

Since this beef, I've gone with playing Fantasy Rosters.

Side note = Live 08 looks MIGHTY FINE!

Sweet Dynasty there Jimbo! Some pretty big moves too!

And yeh Live 08 does look sweet, 8 intl teams are included too and an international tournament but australia not included :(

Man I think he played for NUggets in real life once upon a time but he has pretty decent 3 point rating... lol

After I drafted Lebron, Brand and Redd.... no wait Redd was included - I went fishing for 3 point shooters (barring my centre I went for the best that was available).

thanks matty, haha i really enjoy playing, i'm just a kid :D

and to scotty:

dude i play on the PC, and i can just download updated rosters from www.nbalive.org or nba-live.com so basically i don't need to figure them out myself.

usually updates are released every few months so it's pretty easy to stay updated!

fair enoughh! i knew the name sounded familiar, and i thought there's no way it could be a created player.

great signature by the way, those two guys are going to lead the way for Minnesota, some real quality players right there.

the young ex high schooler straight to the NBA who's going to be a dominant force, and the former college senior who is the meaning of hard work, hustle and teamwork.

Nah no created players... I removed them from my fantasy draft... otherwise my brother was going Pick #1 all the time (a centre who could drill 3 ptrs better than Reggie lol)....

Yeha I am embracing my new wolves - starting four new player collections outta this.... Telfair (keeping it in the Marbury family ha ha), Green, Jefferson and Gomes. At least I'll be able to have a few more targets come trades now.

I'm embracing the timberpups ;)

Didn't take long for EA to put out some KG pics..... What a match up this will be!!!!

Awesome read, but have to say, how did you lose any games???? I've tried everything from picking teams in fantasy draft of players all rated 50 or lower in that game, playing it same as you (superstar, 6 minute quarters) but I cannot change my style of play enough to lose a game.

Even tried shooting only 3s (mind you, with starters that can do it), and still!
