Hey guys,
new on this site, but I’ve been around the online trading community for a while…I collect Kevin Durant and have since 2007, and I’m always on the lookout for KD cards I don’t have, either through buying or trading! Just wanted to introduce yall to my collection, and give a little background to how I came about acquiring some of them (I’ve been a very active bargain hunter with these, which is growing tougher with KD cards these days!)
Here are my top 10 favorite KD cards in my collection (the rest of my KD’s are in the photobucket link below!):
1. 07-08 Hot Prospects Draft Day Postmarks On-Card AUTO RC #/50
Love the look of this card, with a legitimate stamp and a pristine on-card auto. The card is in perfect shape and IMO would fetch at least a BGS 9.5 in grade, I plan on sending it off for grading soon. Acquired this card along with two other Durant RC Autos in exchange for one Steve Slaton topps rookie premiere auto PSA 10 back in 2008.
2. 07-08 Sweet Shot Signature Kicks Leather RC AUTO #/40
A card I had been trying to track down for quite some time, finally found one on the bay and worked with the seller to purchase it for $175. Love the on-leather auto, and to my surprise, the auto hasn’t faded at all.
3. 07-08 UD Black Dual Ticket Autos w/Jeff Green Gold Parallel #’d/5
A truly sick card with two rookie autographs of two of my favorite players. As if the regular ticket autos weren’t rare enough (#’d/15), this one is the gold parallel. Both autos are crisp and the card is in great shape considering the condition sensitivity of UD black cards. It’s the only card I’ve ever made a deal for on Hobby Kings, giving up roughly $200 in value in the trade.
4. 07-08 Upper Deck NBA Heroes Kevin Durant RC On-Card AUTO #/5
I was contacted by a seller on eBay about having this Durant card, and was wondering how much it would be worth. I was at first a little worried that they knew I was into Durant cards (then I realized my bidding history speaks for itself!), and then I was more worried when they wanted to work out a deal off-eBay, for a very reasonable price ($130). There wasn’t any data on this card available at the time (about a year or so ago), but I figured it had to be pretty valuable that it came from a redemption in a mass produced product, and numbered to just 5, so I took a shot at the off-eBay transaction with no record and no proof of what I was going to receive documented. Needless to say, I received the Durant card fine, and my faith in people as a whole was boosted a bit as well. A couple months ago, one of these sold for about $750 on eBay, so it turns out I got a pretty nice deal to boot.
5. 07-08 Ultra Lucky 13 BLANK BACK Error RC
Got this one for super cheap on eBay, as the seller listed the card as “Damaged†in the title. As I read the actual description, it stated that the card was damaged because “it had nothing on the back, and it came out of the pack that way,†which was actually a confirmed error from Fleer for that product. I won the card for about $5, and after researching it more, UD released a statement that said that no more than one half of one percent of the all cards in circulation had this error, as they caught the error very early in the production process and fixed it. Needless to say, for about 1/8th of what the standard KD Lucky 13’s go for, I’ll take those odds.
