Definitely! The ones I've seen sold for some crazy amount! (I think I saw one sell for something like $1000). Insane price considering they had no main characters (actor likenesses) in.
Mauro Fodra does a lot of sketches for each release so I've always thought that's why his work is lower in value, because the supply is greater than the demand. I think he draws an amazing Hulk though! I've been looking to buy one by him. Jomar Bulda is another artist that I am surprised by how low his cards sell for. I think it must also be because he does a lot of them.
I agree with your valuation of sketches from $60-$80 boxes for sure. It's hard to pull a sketch which covers the cost of the box. That's probably why I only break boxes for the enjoyment of the break. Although, most of my money nowadays goes to buying sketches I want directly from ebay etc. I've been able to pick up way more sketches that I like than I would have if I was breaking cases. Probably because I'm super fussy with sketches!
Jomar Bulda is another artist I really like. And you are right his sketches sell pretty cheap too. Coming from buying NFL boxes, I think the concept of getting $30 of value back from a $60-$80 box for example is pretty common, almost making it a good break!
Very nice ! That's a really different style too with the different shades. You see the mono black and white a fair bit, but not with a couple of different greys as well... Just checked out some of his other work, looks like good stuff...
I just bit the bullet today and commissioned some PSC's by Frank Kadar seeing as he was taking them for a short period...really looking forward to see what he does. Think he still has a spot or two open if anyone is interested...

Yeah Proctor does some really awesome work. I did request a black and white type of colouring because I thought it most suits 'The Crow' look, so was very happy with how it turned out. It did take quite a while (from before October) but he did have to have surgery and kept me updated so I wasn't too bothered. Plus he doesn't charge much at all ($25) for some really good work. Will look at getting a Harley Quinn from him in the future.
I saw that Frank Kadar had some FS and have been very, very tempted to bite the bullet and get a Harley Quinn done by him. If I had a bit more Paypal funds I would have! I am waiting on a couple from Jeffrey Abar (a Quinn PSC and an Orca Whale AP from 'The Deep') that are due to be ready around end of Jan / beginning of Feb.
Yeah, I think as long as they keep you posted you're happy to cop some delays...life gets in the way for all of us sometimes ! It's when you hear about people disappearing or read some of the other stuff that goes on that you get worried...

I see Tim's having a $20 color sketch sale, might give him a go, that price is hard to pass up! Do you happen to remember what he charged for postage ?

From memory I think it was an extra $5. He does some great work, but can take a little while. I would definitely recommend him though especially considering how cheap his charges are really. I am thinking of picking up another 1 or 2 myself.
Two new commissions form Jeffery Abar - another great Artist to deal with.
First up is an Artist Proof I requested from Viceroy's 'The Deep'. I really like the sets that Viceroy do and love Orca Whales so couldn't rsist not having this one.
And next up is a Harley Quinn PSC sketch card. I requested Harley Quinn and left the rest up to Jeff to decide on. He went with a "many faces of Harley Quinn" theme and I it turned out great. I asked to not see the scan for either of these so it was a pretty awesome surprise seeing them for the first time when I opened the parcel up.
