i started on the 8800 then got onto the 8900 - but work has changed me to the palm treo 800w as of 2 months ago, which sorta sucks. but it runs and ruins my life the same amount
i must agree that blackberry is wayyyyyy better and it looks alot nicer too - but work has a deal with telstra to issue palm
hopefully we get back to the real crack in the near future

Lots of new BB's coming out or are out so you won't skip a beat when they eventually switch over. The word is that the new OS 5.0 is coming out soon, and has got even more goodies like predictive text, threaded sms, faster browsing etc so can't wait to download that when it gets officially released! The beta version is out but pretty buggy.

threaded sms rules - palm has that (didnt use 8900 long enough to know much about it - i assume its similar to its predecessor?)

The 8900 has got threaded sms (OS 4.6 which is what most of the newly released BB run on) but it's slightly primitive and not that aesthetically pleasing
My 8900 has crashed/frozen only twice in nearly 2 months of usage, so it's very stable indeed. The learning curve is steep, but after you get a hang of everything, it's an extremely powerful device, can't do without it!
