i was pretty bummed out by some news at the office yesterday.
been on great terms with this other bloke who heads another department in my office. had been working towards getting a position in his department in the hope of one day working with him.
he's been like a mentor figure to me, really helping me along and giving lots of good advice on career advancement. especially when there's been plenty of stuff-ups in my own department.
dropped a bombshell yesterday when he said he's leaving the company. got another offer he couldn't refuse (ie more guaranteed money, being able to manage a big team and do something totally different from what he'd been doing here).
leaves me in a bit of a fix, cos i'd been wondering whether to move on myself, or to just suck it up and keep plugging away.
it sounds like teoh is in the flesh business. "coach" = pimp, leaving to manage higher class meat
in 2 years time teoh becomes a "free agent" because he would have paid off the debt to his stable
these stories are pretty commonplace outside the world of wax and cardboard
