UFC Fan!
Hi guys (mods!), is there any chance of getting a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) section on the forum, similar to the Baseball/Basketball/Cricket etc sections?
There are a fair few people on here that collect MMA cards and I would expect that number to rise in future, as the sport continues to grow.
Foxtel has regular shows, and with 1HD and Channel 7 (2) now having weekly MMA shows, it is heading more and more into the mainstream.
At the moment the UFC/MMA threads dominate the "other stuff" sections of the forum, but this could be seen as a negative for the rest of the "other stuff" because it seems that anything else immediately gets bumped down by the MMA threads.
Look at the recent box breaks in the 'other stuff' section - mostly all UFC (MMA).
Same with the maildays, but this time we are all using one thread instead of the guys using other sections that each start their own.
Look at the 'Topps UFC Series 2' thread - almost 400 replies and over 3.5K views in less than 2 months.
Really the only reason the thread has gone so long is that anything remotely MMA gets thrown into it. It is diluted by off-topic (but still MMA) stuff simply because there is nowhere else to write about it!
If there is anything that we can do to help get an MMA section on the site then let me know and I will also put the word out to the other MMA collectors on here.
