MKV files to AVI anyone??

I have some home movies that are MKV files and need to convert them to AVI or be able to burn them as DVDs to view.

I've got a few programs that say they do this and installed all the codecs etc but they still don't work. #-o

Anyone point out what program they use to do this??

use a program called DVDSanta it will convert mkv to dvd

it works because ive done it with the miami-mavs nba finals 2006

followed this guide and it wont load the MKV file like it say it should. comes up unable to open video file. Same for the two MKV ones I want to convert too :-(

Not having much luck.

I'm having a similar prob with a couple of AVI's. It's a game split into 4 files, but they had a HEAP of "funny" characters in the file names, etc, and they just won't open with ANYTHING....

might be ur codec too, try using k-lite codec
