mj_fan ! I am calling you out - love to hear others opinions on this matter !

It takes quite a bit to set me off these days but today mj_fan decided to be the first in some time. Not only did he just refuse to reply to our deal but he decided to break every rule on OCT about doing deals and postage !

After making me wait months for something I paid for this guy proceeded to PM me continual BS regarding our deal

I gave him a feedback he deserved yet people still are taking a risk dealing with him !? here is the deal from 29/1/2011 ... that is not a typo

I also asked for a refund but was told it had already been sent (msgd 5/7/2011) you can clearly see that it was posted after this date so a refund should have been given !? or am I wrong ?

The additions have been slim single card wise and when 2 parcels turned up today

I always video my mail (because of members like mj_fan, sadly there are a few )

It's really annoying but I have started videoing opening packages as well after receiving a couple of dodgy parcels from ebay. It's pretty disappointing to have to do this now but undeniable proof is always a good thing to have in your corner.

Sorry to read (and see) you had this unfortunate indecent. Thank you for sharing it though.

This happened to me last week, i purchased a card off ebay few weeks ago...and when i got it, it was in a plastic penny sleeve with carboard to cover it. On the envelope it said 'do not bend' in miniscule writing, and the card still got bent anyway -_- lucky it wasnt one of the more valuable cards i have purchased off ebay.

Ebay doesn't have any guidelines to adhear to when shipping cards though does it? Nor are they usually sent by people with a shred of common sense.

People just get lazy and lose the plot some times it seems

I don't think so but what if the goods are damaged but are sold as new and in good condition? Some people are lazy but I also think some people don't care full stop.

As a reminder to everyone:

Packaging:

Absolutely no sending in white envelopes under any circumstances. The minimum amount of protection when sending all cards is as follows:

a) Each card to be in a penny sleeve, always.
b) Cards are to be placed in appropriately thick top loaders, secured by tape at the top.
c) Cards to be sent in a bubble mailer.

In the event of sending a large number of cards, where individually placing each card in a top loader is not practical, the cards should be well protected between cardboard/top loaders and posted in a box or bubble mailer.

Postage methods that are NOT approved :
a) Cards in a white envelope, regardless of individual card protection - sending in white envelopes is not to happen and will result in a negative being left for you.
b) Cards sent in a penny sleeves or team bags without any other protection.
c) Careless packing methods, such as sending cards in top loaders without tape/team bag to prevent the card slipping out and being damaged.
d) Cards shipped in snap-tight cases with rounded corners.
e) Any other way you can think of that will cause a card to be damaged.

Other sites do not have rules for these sorts of things, and we have seen far too many cards damaged from poor packing. The white envelopes in particular are a no no - we have it from an Aussie Post employee that these white envelopes go through an automated sorting machine, which explains some of the damage we have seen to cards/top loaders sent in plain envelopes. Bubble mailers do not go through this process, so the chances of damage are far less likely.
