EDIT:

WOW! Just when I had given up hope, the card turns up. 6 weeks later than expected but so happy and relieved, restored my fatih in US group breakers. I wouldn't have been so worried if it was one of the other breaks. Just my luck for the valuable one to go missing :P Thanks all for your help and well wishes :)

...........................................................................................................

Hi guys, has anyone here had any problems with receiving cards from a group break in the states or with Layton Sports Cards? I went in an NT/Spectra break on the 6th September, I was over the moon when i drew the cavs and hit an Anthony Bennett platinum RPA /5. Last one sold for $1000 on ebay.

Straight after the break I emailed them and asked for a one touch and a shipping upgrade which i was happy to pay for. No reply until I got an email with tracking details for basic shipping which still only states 'electronic notification' (meaning they have printed the label but not sent it. I have emailed them numerous times but they just say things like 'it's a typo', or 'misprinted label'

I have since received cards from breaks that happened over 2 weeks after this one. I've emailed them over the last few days and got no reply.

Is there anything I can do about this?

I'd give it another one/two weeks before I get to worried.. Can take awhile from the us sometimes.
Sounds like a simple mistake, would be good if someone there could answer your emails though.

Same thing has happened to me from a blowout sale recently. spent $625 US paypal goods/services on a card from a bricks and mortar sports card store in the US. I then get an email stating the tracking number, which is followed a little later by an email stating that the label failed to print and a note that states the "seller is taking the item to the post office".

2 weeks on (10 business days) starting to get nervous.

I hope your card turns up bud, I personally have never busted with laytons but have seen them heaps on breakers.tv
Ive been breaking with US based guys for around 2 years and there are definitely more guys busting live which means sadly, there's more dodgy pricks around.

From my experience the most trusted guys are:
Irv (minera sports cards)
Chad (firehand cards)
Ken (k2 sportscards)

The non reply of emails is worrying but if I was you id go on breakers.tv when they are on and call them out on chat.
At least all the room will see and he may explain himself to save face.

Thanks for the info guys

@LuckySlayer I asked for express shipping and insurance once the break was done, but he didn't reply to my email, then 2 days later I got sent the tracking number.
I have since had breaks from him that were over a week after the first one and have received those cards. I'm not too worried about how long it takes, just that it get's here.
The tracking number has no info except 'electronic notification'. So this together with him not replying to my emails makes me think I'm going to get the old 'lost in the mail'

@West Oz Cards that sucks too, hopefully it arrives soon. My biggest problem is claiming the $115 from the break is no good when it was a $1000 card. 95% of the time you lose out on group breaks but it's really annoying the time you finally hit something you don't get it.

@pugzyboy Thanks for you help, might try some of those guys out, and also get into the chat on his next break to see what he says.

Went in an NT/Immaculate break with mojobreak too for the first time 3 days ago and hit a scottie pippen sneaker swatch :)
I've emailed him too about shipping upgrade so hopefully he replies soon and the same thing doesn't happen.

Nothing to add about the breaker regarding this card, but you should definitely check this out

Cheers, I've just recently changed my shipping address to comc to make things easier. Ive had about 8 breaks with layton sports cards and after about 5 i changed my address. He is also saying comc may have lost it, although I didn't change the address until about 2 weeks after. I was also going to contact Panini but don't think they could do anything.

If its being sent to COMC, than it may have arrived at COMC without your username on it. This has happened to me previously. If that is the case email the guys with a picture of the card in question and see if it is in their 'limbo' pile.

In my case though, I had a tracking number so it was easy to correlate the two.

Might contact comc anyway with a screen grab and the tracking number that I have, see if it works. I doubt it though as I only changed my comc address 2 weeks after the break, so it should have been sent out to oz by then.
I've contacted him through chat and said he is trying to find it.
Sure hope it comes up. Been looking on ebay also to see if it pops up.

Still no card, and speaking on chat he thinks someone else may have received it by mistake, but has offered to compensate me.
He has emailed this morning and offered me a sealed box of NT whether he finds it or not. which is probably half the value of the card and I have seen a lot of NT boxes recently and don't like my chances
Somethings not right, and feel as though I have been scammed as every other group break I have been in with them (about 10) I have received tracking about 3 days after and delivery has gone smoothly.

I believe I have been scammed, as every other group break I have been in with them (about 10) I have received tracking about 3 days after and delivery has gone smoothly. received this tracking 3 days after the break. (It hasn't even left his store)

Sorry to hear about it; hope you get justice.

For the record, I've had plenty of breaks with Layton and I've always got my stuff delivered. I don't think they would try to scam anyone as they are one of the biggest breaking websites around, but something is a bit off in your case, not sure if it's a mistake or something was done on purpose, but I hope you can get what is owed to you, I wouldn't be accepting a box of NT as compensation either

Sorry to hear about it; hope you get justice.
Thanks :)

I've heard plenty of good things about them and he seems like a decent guy. I'd love to trust them but it doesn't give me much confidence when they don't care too much on helping me find it.
No replies to emails for about 3 days and it they usually just sidestep my questions. If I was the breaker I'd be doing everything as quick as I could to find it and keep in contact.
Don't like my chances but as least comc have received my Pippen and Boozer from my last break :)

I don't know anythign about this guy, but my rule of thumb is - poor communication =I don't trust you as far as I can throw ya. So I personally would be very worried.

Editedto add:

Makes me wish I could afford to do breaks... cause for me its about the hobby and if I busted a money card I would be so stoked to get that to its owner!

any update @BT7?

Just sAW THE 3/5 is listed on ebay if you wanted to get an idea of price
Still no luck :( , haven't had a reply to my last email from them for 3 days now, asked them to see if they could open an investigation with usps on the shipment. Got excited when I saw that, was hoping it was the 4/5. Should give me a better indication of current market value though. I have given up on finding it,

I won a card on ebay from a US seller and he sent the card registered post. 4 weeks past and the seller messages me saying that the card somehow found its way to Canada and the online tracking said the package was being sent back to sender. A week later when I checked USPS tracking it read that the card had departed USPS LA which from what I was told is where mail is sent internationally from. A month past still nothing. I pretty much gave up hope that maybe the card got lost somewhere along the way. Another month past, long and behold my prized Birdman card showed up in the mailbox!! Took 3 months!! So you never know don't give up hope :)

Wow, that's unreal. Guess the dissapointing thing is that I've done about 10 breaks with them and 9 shipments have come within 2 weeks and nothing of value like the RPA.
But there's always hope :)
