Hey Guys,

Just booked my trip for Melbourne in mid April with the girlfriend to attend Supanova and for a relaxing time away from it all.

I've been before in 2008 but didn't really get to adventure too far out from the CBD area. So i would really like to visit and see some more great things Melbourne has to offer so all suggestions welcome.

Also any good card shops i can check out? I mainly collect Non-Sport but I do collect some Sports.

thanks in anticipation guys!

 I've been to Sydney before back in October 2006. Luckily i got to get out of the city a bit. Saw the blue mountains and some other places of note. I remember going to some comic and toy shops there as well...King Comics was one of them. Good times!

Hard to pick between Sydney and Melbourne. So i'll just pick Perth :)

go to the MCG and see a footy game!
if winery tours are your thing (or more likely your misses thing) theres any easy way to spend a weekend outside of the city.

I went to a footy game the preliminary final between collingwood v geelong. So many Collingwood bogans surrounded me.

But negative aside it was a great experience.

Also Try out Bar 20 KING ST.

Both are fairly ****full, cardzone is mainly AFL, but stock some NBA boxes at massively inflated prices. pop cultcha ive only been to once, stopped by there recently when i was in the area. there customer service left alot to be desired...2 guys tapping away at there computers without any aknowledgement of people as they walk in, i saw a small collection of nba stuff they have for sale, going off there website i thought theyd have alot more. maybe it was out the back or something, but i didnt really feel like interupting them to ask.

thanks yeah i have been to both sites and they both seem quite overpriced when it comes to all things cards.

Really depends on how far out of Melbourne you can travel and what your interests are. 12 Apostles in Apollo Bay is about 3 hours from Melbourne, Sovereign Hill in Ballarat is about 1 hour away from the CBD.

There is the Tutankhamun exhibition at the Melboure Museum from April 8 onwards if you are into that sort of thing.

As for card shops, there is one at the Dandenong Market on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Is also at Caribbean Gardens in Ferntree Gully on Fridays and Sundays i believe. Has plenty of non-sport there i believe (although i don't buy any)

Hope the info helps mate.

try the dandenong market. there is a card shop in dandenong market with all kinds of collectibles in there. friendly and not too overpriced.. open tues, friday and saturdays..
go to a footy game at the mcg, check out the melbourne convention centre next to crown casino usually there is something going on there. or go to the docklands and check out harbortown for some shopping. or the queen vic market..
hope there is some extra idea's..
