Matt Gidley to the Knights in 2011?

Just read that Matt Gidley might be running around for a final season with the Knights.

I was a huge Knights fan and a huge Gidley fan. Just wondering everyone elses opinions on this? I think it would be great he has been playing well for St Helens, however there is the issue of his age 34. I think the Knights might have to make a choice between letting Gidleey have a final hurrah, or re-signing "Mad Dog".

Though it would be good to see the two of them run around again 10 years after the last Knights premiership.

He's been playing for St Helens, still has that lethal flick pass too.

imo very overrated. Like many Knights players from that era, Joey made him look alot better than he really was.

i have to agree with you.. and if its only going to be for one more year and at the cost of another player leaving then its not worth it.

He was definitely one of the Knights best ... I dunno how you can call him over-rated, he set up try after try with his flick pass, had great footwork and was a very solid defender.

However, it seems like it's between him and MacDougall for a contract next year, MacDougall is about the form centre of the comp, and it'd be ridiculous to let him go for Matt Gidley.

I'd have to say I rated Gidley as well, yes Joey was the key to their success but Gidley was value added to their team.

Mad Dog V Gidley

It's a hard one yes the "mad dog" is going the better of the two at the moment but after he gets his contract and then can't train and plays only a handful of games for the year, then in hindsight Gidley may be better value.

Side note.....Neville Costigan is a great snare for thr Knights....IMO
