I thought I'd share my Michael jackson mojo with you guys. I been a huge MJ fan since i was a kid and watched thriller over and over again. Being a huge card fan when i heard Panini were bring out a MIchael Jackson Trading Card set i thought I'd pick a few up off ebay. While looking I saw the boxes were only $50US each so i grabbed 2. I really wanted a relic worn card but thought i'd get a box or 2 and see how i go. When I recieved the boxes I saw that relic cards were 1 per case for each relic sub set which there are 3. So i had a pretty slim chance of hitting one of those 3 relics in my 2 boxes (cases are 24 boxes). I opened the 1st box and bang
Michael Jackson Televised Fashions #249 made. The swatch came from a vest MJ wore on American Bandstand and Soul Train in 1974. He also wore the vest on a Bob Hope special.
I was so happy I thought I'd sit on the other box for a while. After a few days of it staring at me i thought what the heck and broke the other. You wouldn't believe it.
Michael Jackson Jackson Live Threads #179 made, from a Boyd Clapton design outfit he wore in 1971 for publicity photos and live stage performances during a Jackson 5 national tour.
I was so happy until a few days ago i was going through the commons and 8 gold 4 platinum and 1 diamond cards per box and saw a Sequins insert that was in a pack from my 1st box which had a relic in it. I looked the Sequin card up on ebay ended items and to my amazement there were selling for between $200-$300US. The relics have been selling for around $100-$150 each.
Here's a scan of the Sequin card numbered 3 of 4. ( I contacted a seller in the US who told me he broke 2 and a half cases and only pulled 1.)
So far $100US I think i did a heap better than buying a relic card off ebay. And to pull 2 by myself makes them even more special and will be going straight to my PC to never be sold.
Hope you guys like my pulls and hope to here your comments.
Big congrats mate, that's killer. I gotta get my hands on some of that Jackson memorabilia at some stage too, I too grew up listening to his music so understand it must be pretty cool to have pulled what you did. Out of 2 boxes none the less
