Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a great Christmas & New Year
Normally i purchase/buy/sell Star Wars cards, i thought i would try my luck & bust some Marvel - Comic type boxes
Any suggestions which Marvel boxes i should consider purchasing
I should say from the outset, my main interest is quality sketches/good colour-reasonable artist sketches & combinations of base sets/other
I am seriously looking at Marvel - Heroes and Villains (Rittenhouse) boxes - what do you think ?? (i beleive these have 1 sketch per box - what are the sketchs like ?)
Any other type Marvel - comic heroes boxes which provide similar or better bang for your buck ??
Re: Marvel Comic Heroes box ?? - which is best value ? I am interested to purchase bo
All the Rittenhouse Marvel boxes are 1 colour sketch per box. The recent Marvel Heroes and Villains specified at least 2 characters per sketch. For some artists this really worked, but there's also a lot of 'two faces looking at each other'. It's a bit of a risk with only 1 box. I personally thought X-Men Archives and Marvel 70th Anniversary had better consistency of sketches. Slightly cheaper are the Fantastic Four Archives and more expensive is Women of Marvel and Complete Avengers.
There's also some specific character ones (Spiderman, Iron Man) and if you have a favourite character then it increases your chance of getting a sketch of that character if you buy the relevant series.
Do you have favourite characters? Also, you can check my Marvel trades here for fairly typical sketches (most recent sets at the top, older further down).
