Magnetic/Screwdown - Opinions?

Hi guys, i'm looking at getting some new holders for the best in my PC, I'm thinking about getting the promould 1-screw screwdowns, which have recessed corner protection, but it seems most ppl go for the ultra pro magnetic one-touch holders, is there any advantage to using them?

I just think the 1-screws are a bit more secure and look nicer...

i go for the 1 screw screwdowns because they look nice too. i guess the magnetic are more safer, thats why people tend to go for them more.

Andrew! You're here too. Fancy that. I just got introduced to it yesterday :S

Weighing in, I think I like the magnetic ones better as they are easier, simple pop up and down rather than having to find me a screw driver. I also happen to think they look better (even though it's much of a muchness). As for safer, I'd have to say the screw down ones because there wouldn't be a chance of them popping open if transported on a weird angle or some such...not that I would do that to my cards nor would anyone...but there you go. 2 cents entered. Check!

i used to have screw downs,but all are magnetic now,why,i reckon they look smarter,and if you tightin the screws in the screw downs all the time,what would it do to the internal thread?they wear out

fair call wallace, but i'm looking at using them for cards which are unlikely to be taken out for years if at all which makes me think screw downs might be better, plus my opinion on the look also differs

yeah i dont think my cards will be coming out of them for a while either.

to answer your other question i think they hold the card more secure, im not really sure, theirs probably no difference at all but i still like the look of the 1 screw better.

I have a whole lot of Mags and screwdowns.

I personally like the mags cos.................
a. They look great
b. They are easy to open and close (you don't need a screw driver)
c. They seem to be as secure as screwdowns (have dropped a few with out them opening)

There is only one drawback of the mags............

If you have children with sticky fingers around, they can easily open them and pull the cards out. Lucky for me that has not happened yet. Either you keep them (children) away from those mag holders or put them in screwed cases - card not children .

Or the other option is putting sticky tape so its harder or them to open, but then it doesn't look as nice.

very nice Ersk... that explains alot.. . i love magnetic holder better tooo.. so far i have never dropped the holder before, so no idea.. but sounds very promising
