Live 08 looks awesome, but no doubt EA will **** something up...like not having auto subs working or something basic...they spend too much time on looks and forget about game play
I think there's nothing worse. My players were always subbed around after 2-3 mins, and cos Jet Terry's down as a PG, they sub out Harris, bring in Eddie Jones/Stackhouse, and put Terry as PG.
Then when you're players are heating up, and drilling shots, or locking down the on D, they get subbed out... GRRRR>.......
nah i mean there was a bug in live 07 where the opposition players didnt tire at all and never subed off so u played there starting 5 the whole game...was crap...the PC version had a patch to fix it, but i had it on PS2....sucked ass
I'm really liking the look of Live at the moment, but will check out the demo tomorrow, and see what the game play is like.
One of my beef's with 2K7, you try to back your opponent down, now Dirk should be able to back down D.Wade, yeah? He's stronger.
Well, sometimes you'll be backing down a smaller player, and they'll "push" you back out... WTF....
Or....
You're trying to dribble around your player, and "bounce" backwards off them, and can't get around. You try about 5 times, and either "drop" the ball, or they're called for a blocking foul.
I found that on a standard TV, 2K6 was the best option, Live 06 was almost unplayable, but on a decent set, I found Live was cool, 2K6 lacked. I think EA sports is really aiming at the HD thing, and the game play is suited to that as well, it's amazing the impact the TV and screen resolution ect has on it.
Get a wireless Router, that'll bounce the signal across to the Xbox from the ADSL modem...
I just realised one thing I hope they fix in the new release.
You play 1 game in a season (actually it can be any game in season) and 2-3 days after the game, your player(s) may get an injury, to which it says "after the last game such and such was injured".... why can't it be "during practice" or something.?
Another thing, if your players don't practice, they should lose stats. Or fatigue really easy.
Practice shouldnt be just setting up drills, it should be full on work outs.
Pre-season Practice that you run and select players to do drills to earn rating points - like they have in Madden NFL.... I feel its too hard to develop players otherwise.... but thats just my two cents.
One thing I'm used to, is the shot stick in 2K, now in Live, the shot stick, is a freestyle stick. Which is pretty cool, just gotta get used to it.
Also with Live, there's a shoot button, and a layup/dunk button.
Another thing I like from 2K, is you press 1 button and it displays an icon above your team mates, and you press that button to change. I have it down pat, and can do it on an instant.
With Live, you have to HOLD the button, what half a sec, and it gives a coloured ring around their feet instead. You then have to press the button that resembles that colour.
Not an easy task. But I spose it's standard button (X for PF, A for PG, B for SG, etc)??
Is there no way you can drag the console around the house? lol.
Can't you get some sort of WAP to bounce the signal from 1 point to another, and plug your 360 into a router (plugged to the WAP)? Might be cheaper just to go with the Wireless for the 360 tho.
I can't remember what you might need, this time off work has really buzzed my mind, and can't remember out setups in the office.
2K6 was so much better for me on a normal TV, but on the Plasma, Live was in another league and the game play felt better (like I said, designed for HD?)
