These are some random cards have been sitting in a pile waiting to be back scanned for quite some time - so on a day where I can't be bothered going outside I decided to do this mailday instead! Not much high end stuff in here at all so any card snobs better move onto the next mailday - lol

Some Obligatory GU

Elton Brand Classic GU /199
Simple folk like Forrest Gump and myself like simple, classic things....like Classics cards

M Williams & S Stoudemire Ultimate Dual Jersey /50
Just a humble GU but nice big swatches in the Hawks colours and a neat design for which early Ultimate cards were renowned...the material takes centre stage here, these days the material is basically an afterthought... Whatever happened to the Super Sub Salim Soudemire anyway? Anyone?

Anthony / Billups / Nene Abs Mem Team Trios GU /100
Iconic lineup featuring Big Shot Billups, Melo, Ty Lawson and some pretty interesting high flying characters such as JR Smith and the 'Birdman'... Great team which just never went anywhere come playoff time...

James Harden Season Update /799 and Studio GU /299
Fear the (baby rookie) Beard! I used to like Panini Studio cards - whatever happened to that idea?

Tim Duncan Certified FOTG /299 and Select GU
The Big Fundamental seems to have found the foutain of youth. He'll keep on balling until he's 50! I probably still won't have a Duncan auto even when he's 50 so these humble GU will have to suffice...

Steve Nash NT GU /99
I still like the old NT products - had a nicer overall design to them. Particularly liked this release although the prevelance of sticker autos ruined a fairly high end product. No sticker GUs though so all good!

The Card That Doesn't Fit In Anywhere Else

Eric Gordon GS #1/10 - ebay 1/1!
Amazing what a couple of injuries can do to a career... Withotu his circa $15m paycheck the Pelicans could really be in contention.

The Scribble

Jason Thompson Sophomores Sigs /199 & SPGU Significance autos
Puts up worst numbers of his career despite starting 63 of 82 games and only having Carl Landry (returning from injury), D Williams (more of a tweener forward), Reggie Evans (one trick veteran pony about to be sent to the glue factory) and Eric Moreland (who??) for competition

Tony Allen E-x auto
Defensive stopper of all NBA quality. His D is so good he could stop a tank in its tracks with a swiss army knife...

Danilo Gallinari SPGU Significance auto /149
Bit of a down year after being relegted to the bench but ended the year in the starting unit and dropping a couple of big 40 and 47 point games which received minimal attention since the Nuggs were out of playoff contention...

Gerald Henderson Classic auto /499 (on card)
Great example of a simple design and a big on card auto. Sometiems the simple things are the best. Bit of a down year for the former Dukey but at least he's honed that outside jumper...

Dante Cunningham Crown Royale auto /699 (on card)
Supplanted in the starting 5 by Pondexter but that was to be expected! Die cut, topped by a crown and a golden crown at that, winning design!

Corey Brewer COurt Kings auto /399 (on card)
Dropped a big 51 point game last season (against the Rokets ironically) and when asked about it Lebron was quoted as saying 'Corey who?'. Sexy looking cards - love the look (and feel) of Court Kings!

Elton Brand Ultimate auto (on card)
Surely the big fellow is nearing the end of his career, beautiful big auto in his prime playing days as a Clipper.Woudl be nice to see him get a ring albeit rather unlikely...

David West Triple Dimensions Standout auto /100 (on card)
Don't see many of these around and you don't see many cards centred around a bright green background either!

Andrew Bogust Majestic auto /199 (on card)
Majestic autos are well, rather majestic! Die cut, nice retor design and the all important big on card auto. Unfortunately here it looks like the aussie big man was caught testing if his shaprie had any ink left in it... Not many Bogut autos of that ilk! Ebay 1/1???

Scribble & Threads

Tony Allen Select GU / auto /199
Some guys can shoot, some guys can board and there are a few guys who can 'lock-you-down' with their D. An absolute pitbull of a defender who gets in your face.

Kosta Koufos Signature Threads GU / auto /599 (on card)
I'll go out on a limb and say these are quite possibly the sexiest basketball cards ever made...

Wilson Chandler SPA Recruiting CLass Letterman auto /50 (on patch) & Topps Trademark Moves GU / auto /139
This high flying, athletic, acrobatic rim attacking slasher was at home on the run n gun Nuggets. If Ty Lawson gets moved look for Chandler to head elsewhere in quick succession also...

Patch Fetish!

Anderon Varejao select patch /49
The much dreaded and maligned one colour patch of shame... Shame, Panini, shame!

Toney Douglas Limited Patch /10
Look at that patch! Pretty sure that's the 'O' from Douglas, or perhaps the 'D', or maybe the bottom half fo the 'U' upside down... Who cares, sick patch! Like the way this guy hustles too, has heart!

C Paul Classics Patch #1/10 - ebay 1/1!
CP3 - patch - Spd /10 - need I say more?????

C Paul / D West / Stojakovic SPX Triple patch /25
Fact 1 - Hornets patches rock! Fact 2 - Triple patch > Dual patch > Single patch Fact 3 - CP3 kicks tail! Fact 1 + Fact 2 + Fact 3 = One filthy triple Hornets patch with CP3 goodness!

Well that's about all for now - more scanning to do!

As always thanks for looking and comments always appreciated.... Nothing here is PC so everything here is up for grabs so if you see anything you like just let me know.

Hope your weekend was a good one!

Nice haul of cards mate! Really like the Tony Douglas patch. Who are you collecting at the moment? Would like to work out a possible trade for it.

Always enjoy the good read that comes with your maildays! The CP3 patches are awesome and agreed, simple designs that are not over-complicated are always the best. I also think you do a much better job than the hacks (such as hackler-no pun intended) at Panini in describing and presenting the cards!

Love that triple hornets patch!

Pick of the bunch - not much else to get excited about but have always liked CP3's game

Big lot there, great variety:kick::kick::kick:

That's it mate - I don't break many boxes so this is my way of sampling some cards in hand....

Pm on its way mate - about time I repaid some favours eh?

If anyone at Panini HQ happens to be reading this I am available and my rates are quite reasonable.... CP3 ftw - oh, wait a second, too soon?!

Another informative mailday with some great cardboard to go with it!

Some great cardboard and plenty of not so great cardboard! lol I suppose you could say I take the fish John West rejects! Worst case scenario I can always recycle! Just love getting some card in the mail to be honest!

Nice haul. Cunningham's autograph really caught my eye. Neat.

Nice looking auto certainly does make a difference - that Bogut majestic is an absolute shocker....

Your right - sweet like chocolate!!

I think your chocolate may be a little bit sweeter, mine is more of a um, 'carob' like mailday!

I always love your maildays for the write ups and also seeing the additions to make of scrub level players!

Even scrubs need some hobby love! They're like the little unwanted orphans of hobby box breaks! I wonder where all the $1 filler autos end up????????
