I don't often have a rant but today I got these cards in the post and unfortunately I personally was not too happy with the packaging effort. The jersey cards in the middle of these top loaders were in penny sleeves (open at the top) and a few of the cards were unusable.

I mean how hard is it to make sure everything is square, cards in penny sleeves are placed in a team bag to secure them and the whole lot secured.

If this is how any member intends packaging cards I either pay for or trade for then don't bother........next time I receive something like this I will just send it back.

For the Mods - if the style, tone or level of this post is deemed inappropriate for a rant, then give me a kick in the ar$e and I will amend or delete as appropriate.

Thats not good enough.

Have you complained to the person.

I always double check abou packaging cards and try to get them perfect so there is not damage at all

My thoughts are below....
We all know whats acceptable when it comes to packaging here.
However we can make some allowances for new members.
The feedback system reflects our standing within the community ...if we get lazy (yes this includes me :D) then the relevent feedback should be left.

yeh sorry tak. as i said i didnt put it together but i no that i am responsible. i just tried to get them too you as quick as possible. leave the feedback you have to i understand i will still leave you good feedback. i havent got any bad feedback before its just i have been staying at my nans this holidays coz my pop went to a navy reunion and she wasnt happy to be ther alone nad my dad put the cards to gether. i am really soory. i have deal with you before and it was good. THE SHANE RODNEY FUTURE FORCE. but yeh i am deeply soory.

I don't agree........making allowances for new members is fraught with danger, what if its a captain signature card and redemption card that is being sent and it arrives bent or creased...........no way I am going to say, oh thats ok, your new...........I might suggest to the mods that in the thread about packaging rules we include some pictures etc of single or multiple cards being packaged as a guide.

Yep i see your point..(i did say some allowances).so if a new member wont get let off then we can assume your going to give the warranted feedback to an established member then

Girds, apology accepted, what I will do for you is to send u a PM with images of how I package single and multiple cards. I think if you took some of those ideas on board then you would have no probs at all...........how's that sound??

the rules are here:
OzCardTrader.com.au - FAQ/Site Rules: OzCardTrader Rules & FAQ

Packaging:

Absolutely no sending in white envelopes under any circumstances. The minimum amount of protection when sending all cards is as follows:

a) Each card to be in a penny sleeve, always. (Doesn't look like it)
b) Cards are to be placed in appropriately thick top loaders, secured by tape at the top. (They were obviously not secure!)
c) Cards to be sent in a bubble mailer.

In the event of sending a large number of cards, where individually placing each card in a top loader is not practical, the cards should be well protected between cardboard/top loaders (they were not well protected)and posted in a box or bubble mailer.

Postage methods that are NOT approved :
a) Cards in a white envelope, regardless of individual card protection - sending in white envelopes is not to happen and will result in a negative being left for you.
b) Cards sent in a penny sleeves or team bags without any other protection.
c) Careless packing methods, such as sending cards in top loaders without tape/team bag to prevent the card slipping out and being damaged.
d) Cards shipped in snap-tight cases with rounded corners.
e) Any other way you can think of that will cause a card to be damaged.

Other sites do not have rules for these sorts of things, and we have seen far too many cards damaged from poor packing. The white envelopes in particular are a no no - we have it from an Aussie Post employee that these white envelopes go through an automated sorting machine, which explains some of the damage we have seen to cards/top loaders sent in plain envelopes. Bubble mailers do not go through this process, so the chances of damage are far less likely.

If you need assistance with advice or supplies to package cards correctly, please create a post in our Site Suggestions/Site Help forum and someone will be along to assist.

Negative feedback can and will be left for members who do not follow these rules REGARDLESS of whether the cards were damaged or not.

lol according to these i rules my dad followed them perfectly. sorry tak will do better next time. i think that was our 3rd deal sorry it was as good as the 1st and 2nd

Since it's so funny to send cards that were not received correctly, I've bolded the relevant parts for you.

they were all in peny sleeves he said , i cannot verify the rest i am sorry and so is he. is houldve waited the three days but i tried to get them tehre faster.

I'm just going by the 2nd pic posted, te couple hanging out don't look like they are in penny sleeves.

Ultimately it is your responsibility to get the cards to the buyer/trader in the safest manner and in a way that you would you want to receive them yourself. I understand where you were coming from in getting someone else to send them, but in the end it is your responsibility

yeh i no well i learnt my lesson. but what pisses me off i have left good feedback for cards that have arrived in much worse condition. once i even got a card in a white envelope through this site with tissue paper rapped around it. 5/10 of the time too ppl dont send their cards in top loaders eitehr.

Guys,

I've pm'd Girds and I was not meaning to single him out. (Unfortunately it was him in this case though)

This is a reminder to all - We will not tolerate poor postage methods, it is well known, part of the site rules and posted by site admin everytime you create a new trade thread.

If you ever receive a trade that is not well packaged, either PM a mod or even better use the report function (the red exclamation mark) on the trade thread and then it gets brought to the attention of all mods.

Thanks for all your input guys & girls..............packaging is critical to ensure the safe transit of all our cards and it should be foremost in our minds when trading. I gota say that if anyone sent me a card in tissue paper in a while envelope I would go ballistic and neg their ar$e from here to kingdom come.......that is just plain (well u know what).

For all members out there, check your local framing shops, I buy off cuts of mapboard and cut it to suit the cards I am sending............I got about 20 off cut pieces last week for 2 dollars.....how can u go wrong.

My usual approach for multiple cards involves about 10 cards in a team bag, folded and taped to stop cards sliding, that is taped to a piece of map board cut to size and another piece placed on top and the whole lot taped.........just ask davidswadling to comment on the package I sent him today, even the Broncos premiership set in the 25 count box was protected with board AND it was all wrapped in bubblewrap. Should have taken a picture..........lol
