This is why the use of the term 'heroes' for sports players really annoys me. Heroes are our those who fought for the freedoms we now enjoy and to those who make selfless sacrifices for the betterment of society.

My grandad is 98 on Tuesday, WW2 veteran, highly decorated commando and such a decent man.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
