Lebron - The Decision - Miami it is

Re: Lebron to Miami

I absolutely agree Jimbo these guys all have enough money to live comfortably for the rest of their lives but saying that giving up a few million isn't anything to sneeze at.

My only worry about these guys would be Wade/Bron and the in team competition for the ball. Wade to me is the pure scorer on the team so i would keep it that way whereas James has the whole defensive side to his game that would be of huge value to the team, if he can ease up on the scoring and focus more on his D and assist game it would go a long way to making the team work. I think Miami are going to be unstopable if they can get a solid PG and C in the side on minimum

Re: Lebron to Miami

A "team of stars" doesn't win you a championship, a "star team" does... lets see if who leads the team with 3 superstars on it!

Re: LeBron's "cowardly betrayal": Open letter to Cavs fans from owner Dan Gilbert

As much as I agree with you Nick, imo the cavs have done a lot for bron, and was very disrespactful of him to handle things that way.

Re: Lebron - The Decision

Would he have been better off not going on tele and announcing it? Atleast he explained his decision live to the people, imagine if he had just released a press report saying he had left Cleveland. I agree it could have been done in a less egotistical fashion but i think overall being in the public eye like he is constantly he had no choice other than going on tele and doing it. Just my opinion

Re: Lebron - The Decision

Have no issues with the tv announcement, just out of courtesy, let the cavs know first!

Every team has done a lot for their star players.

This is just Dan Gilbert evading the blame being put on himself, and instead turning the whole city to hate LeBron.

If they actually supported LeBron they would be upset but get over it. Such is sports though I guess... Management never gets the blame because they aren't the ones whose jerseys we hang up and watch on TV.

Too true mate, Rodman/Pippen/Jordan all stars of the game but knew their roll and did what was needed for the team to win. Im just excited to see how 3 stars of todays game can go next season.

Please point out where I actually said that management wasn't to blame...

My point was that the way Lebron went about announcing it was piss poor.

First of all lets cut the "three superstars business". Bosh will be Bosh. He's not a superstar, he's just a star.

He'll do what he has to do, and won't feel left out because he's the "best big man" on the team - an encouraging way of saying you're not as good as Bron or Wade but you are still important.

He'll get like 18/12 per game or something like that.

Wade I'm thinking 25/5/5 and LeBron maybe 22-23/8/9-10.

If the Washington Wizards could have 3 players averaging 20+ ppg a few seasons back (Caron, Gilbert, Antawn) and they did it a few seasons if I'm not mistaken, there's no reason the Heat can't.

Re: Lebron - The Decision

Wow! Who'd have thought the NBA's Golden Child would go from good guy to bad guy overnight? That's never happened before has it?

I think the glorified ESPN show was a bit much, but credit due on the charity side. I think anyone chanting 'championship' or 'ring' for next season is delusional, it takes more than names to win that championship, they still have a team to build and I can imagine these guys will be playing 38 minutes a night to get those wins.

Writing teams off like Boston, Orlando, Los Angeles etc etc instantly is a little naive, the 'bigger three' have a long way to go and I can't see them having the dream run that the Celtics had in 2008.

Ultimately, good on him for doing what he wants to do, but at the same time he just sold his legacy short in my books. Can he ever be looked at like Larry, Magic and Michael now, as the face of a franchise that won a championship? That's D Wades house right there. And that's only if he wins a championship.

I bet Jimbo is bouncing off the walls right now.

I don't disagree with that man, Bron has also done alot for the Cavs. Would they have had the support and fan base they have now without him? I don't know if Cleveland were told about the move earlier than the interview or not so im not going to comment on that side of things.

Re: Lebron - The Decision

Exactly! Esspecially since he was building up the tv announcement so very much. It so very egotistical. Sure they're not going to like him jumping ship either way, but if you tell people quietly and less like "BAM! F*** ALL OF YOU!" then at least you don't look like an asshole.

Not only is it DWade's house, but anything Bron does now with that crew, Wade automatically has done better cause he already owns a ring!

I am calm. But I love how you can't reflect tone through typing on the internet.

I'm fine mate

No no I wasn't saying they are three STARS. I am saying there are TWO SUPERSTARS and ONE STAR.

I didn't say that you said management wasn't to blame.

What's going on....

I didn't disagree with you that LeBron's announcement was self-absorbed and stupid. I'm just saying every team does a lot for there star, and then I'm just talking in regards to the letter.

there's not much of a difference there, all three would get max contracts with any team, all three dominated in their previous respective teams, all role, lead palyers. we saw something similar at the laker not long ago, payton, malone, kobe, shaq etc... too many stars, no team! lets hope this doesnt happen to the heat!
