Leaving negative feedback without repercussion

Hi All

The story is that I bought a card of a guy from Germany. Did the normal thing of setting up a thread, both agreed to the thread and of course I made payment. The card itself is only worth about $4 so I did not hesitate to pay upfront even though the seller had low feedback rating (10 positive feedback). Of course after a month later, the card has not arrived and the seller is not responding. What can I do????
I was thinking of leaving a negative feedback on the seller so that I can warn everyne else not to buy from him.... but had second thought because in retaliation he can leave me a negative feedback to me.

Please advise. Thanks

Id probably wait it out since its from Germany, had a couple of cards take a bit longer than a month to get to me from the US.

But if he does retaliate the mods should remove it if it was in retaliation.

Thanks Kenny, I do not mind waiting for another 2 or 3 more weeks. Hopefully, I can get some confirmation from the moderators that such retaliation feedback will be removed. Cheers Alex

I would wait too. I recently got a card from Germany and it took over a month to get here.

Thanks for advice, I think I will hold it out for another 2 to 3 weeks. Cheers Alex

Alot of international mail is taking a very long time to get through of late.
I have had several from the US take 4 weeks to get to me.

Have you had communication with him???

Negative feedback should definitely be left if it warrants it. Dont be afraid of retaliatory feedback... it would be removed. Its important that appropriate feedback is left because it not only warns others, but makes it clear for the trader involved that the site takes the rules seriously. However, in this case, being international, there are obviously factors involved such as airmail, customs etc etc... i guess it can take time. Im sure others from here will be able to indicate whats a reasonable amount of time coming from Germany.

Low feedback sends first for a reason, you only have yourself to blame. Surely retaliatory feedback will be removed by mods though.

i recently waited 6 weeks for a card from Germany, this was on ebay though, the guy took a while to get back to my msgs, i held out though and eventually he got back to me. it was aussie cutoms that held the parcel, so i guess in my opinion give them the benefit of the doubt to a certain degree, but if your not getting a response you gotta draw the line somewhere. from recent experience packages are taking longer than usual out of all parts of europe though. hope that bit of info helps

ALthough in fairness, if the trader had 10 positive, then he meets the minimum requirement, so really didnt have to send first.

Yes, I would agree with you. Mails from overseas are taking a bit longer to receive. Had one from the UK recently, taking just under a month to receive. It never took that long a few years ago. I suppose time has changed.

Yes, agree with you completely. The whole idea is to make sure that the rules of the site are followed and a strong warning to deal wit him. Thanks Alex

I traded for a Tag Team from Germany. It never arrived. I would not do a trade to there ever again unless they send registered

Did you leave a negative feedback for him??? Or did he get away scot-free???

Yeah Germany's a long long way away...I'm sure it'll pop up when you least expect it...I'd give him the benefit of the doubt until the end of the month.

Yeah if he was shady then I'd want to know about it too so if you have to just do it! We're fair we'll listen to your case if he leaves you neg feedback.

A couple of questions which are kind of off topic but still regarding feedback and deals:

1. If a deal has been completed and no feedback has been left even though you have left some can you get compensationary feedback. Sounds dumb but the person I did a deal with hasn't been on for 2 weeks since I sent him his cards, I'm quite sure he got them...

2. Is there anyway to Complete a deal even though you didn't create the deal thread. I have a few of these which are technically complete, feedback has been left by both parties etc except that little detail. I don't want to look like the guy with 5 In Progress deals...doesn't look good.

Answers would be appreciated.

Cheers :v:
