Lazy Panini picked the worst cards for their first crack at buyback auto's

As title suggests, I have been looking at the paramount buybacks hitting the 'bay, and I am yet to see a single card yet that has actually been selected because it will highlight the auto best.

Think of all the MJ buyback auto's out there, that nearly always have a perfect place on the card for the auto to really burst off the card when you look at it.

Panini have picked cluttered, boring and mainly base cards for their first attempt at buy backs. MOst look hideous in my opinion.

Ive already seen 4x Kobe anthology "1/1s" too. Wouldn;t be surprised if there all 200 anthology's out there as "1/1"s. lol.

I just get frustrated at their inability to take criticism and ever turn it into something good for collectors. They seem to get is wrong every time. People wanted serial number's, now everything is numbered /1, /5, /10, /25, /99, /199, with barely any difference in the cards, which just defeats the purpose of low numbered cards. Then dont get me started on parallel's :(

Rant over.

Anyone got a list of ALL the buybacks yet?

Completely agree with the cluttered statement. More than half of these autos look like random scribbles (and rushed), and you can barely even see the Bosh.

The UD buybacks looked so much more elegant and clean. Much more desirable imo.

Was just talking about this with another member the other day.

The buybacks was supposed to help drive sales for Paramount and yet they choose the ugliest, cheapest look base cards for the players to sign.

They don't have the resources to obtain NT or Immaculate base cards? Or even one of the billion parallels they produce every year?

The Durant buyback is the most awful looking of the lot, you can barely see his auto.

It pisses me of that they can get all these players to sigh horrific buy backs, what about the redemptions people are still waiting years for???
It is not always just a signature that Panini is waiting for. Sometime the cards get lost or damaged during the process of obtaining signatures. I think it is more a case of Panini not wanting to start up the press just to reprint the 10 cards that need to be remade to fill redemptions. They would rather just replace them with other stock.

Very interesting. Never thought of that before

If they want them signing foil card, why don't they give them silver or gold pens that will make the auto pop. Like I could imagine the prizm's being signed with a nice silver pen auto and looking great. How about some GU cards signed as GU practically have no value anymore either.

I could totally see this card with a nice auto on it.

The KD and the bosh autos from the Marquee could work if they angled the auto on the silver section, although it would be a little cramped. They probably don't give them any indication where to sign either.

I can't believe that they can't even afford like a numbered hologram sticker to certified authenticity or a seperate card which highlights that. Coupled that with the poor selection of card, it makes the buyback auto look cheap !!!!!!!!!!!!!
