Former USC standout quarterback Sam Darnold promises to be one of the first players selected in the 2018 NFL Draft later this month. But he was one of the last to arrive for Panini America’s live-today 2018 Elite Draft Picks Football — at least his autographs were. In fact, by the time Darnold’s autographs were returned to Panini America HQ, packout was just about to start with Darnold autographs inserted as redemptions.
But in a classic two-minute drill just prior to packout beginning, Panini America Product Development and Production officials hurried to replace Darnold redemptions with live autographs. In the end, all but 33 Darnold autographs for 2018 Elite Draft Picks Football will be live in the product. The 33 inserted as redemptions (simply because those redemptions turned out to be proverbial needles in a cardboard haystack) are in-house and ready to be redeemed now.
