Ok so a few months back a fellow on BO posted some cards he had made for all to see.
He also happened to have a couple for sale on ebay. I saw them and thought they were amazing. How someone can design and manufacture quality designs and smash anything panini can muster was mind boggling to me. Needless to say this drew mixed reactions from the peanut gallery. Those like myself gave congrats and admiration to the artist on his creations but....this was BO so the w@nk army tore him a new one. Copyright this, no talent that. I thought it was BS and made contact with the OP.
Very long story short, my pc of a hobby "scrub" with not much new stock needed something special. So, I struck up a proposition with my new buddy Sean at NAFST customs.
It required a purchase of a Grizz jersey on ebay and some skilled craftsmanship by Sean and I am the very proud owner of 12 cards that nobody else on the face of this planet can ever have. If I had his skills my pc would have 100 custom cards!! Enjoy seeing what can be done if you know how! I know this may not be everyones cup of tea but to me they are the best cards in my PC as they were made especially for me. If anyone wants to contact Sean NAFST Customs on FB. Thanks man. I don't know how people can design let alone manufacture themselves so to me it's an art form and I really appreciate the skills required. Plus it's that something special that makes the PERSONAL part of PC.
His artwork selection through to how you want them numbered and even something on the back is just that bit special.
 
Mate that is awesome work, I will have to hit him up as I was toying with the idea of making some cut auto customs to finish my 14-15 rookie draft pc. Can you hit me with his details?
 
I'm a fan! Card collecting is about collecting and whatever the collector wants... What kind of stock is it printed on mate? i.e. how thick is the cardboard? Card backs need some work but the front of them is equally as good as anything Panini has put out....

Mate they are at a guess the thickness of a thin jersey card maybe 50pt?
Yeah I was actually not expecting anything at all on the back so especially those with a picture I was super stoked on.
What still amazes me is this is a normal dude, has a regular job and doesn't do this to swindle anyone. I approached him and he agreed to make me a couple. He sent me the artwork and then the completed product. Once I saw them I asked if he would make me.some more if I sourced a jersey. We agreed on pricing and the rest is history. I was even able to input what parts of the jersey i wanted in the cards etc.
So to me I couldn't be happier.
If some new designs come up I will def be back for more. Sean is particular with images as well has to be the right quality, fit to card design this isn't a whack em together and who cares guy. He is in my opinion an artist and I for one appreciate the time, effort and skill required.
He only uses his own designs so when I asked if he could do a Noise Boyz of Ennis he said "I actually don't know what that is and I only do my own designs" which I actually appreciated although I would like a Noise Boyz haha.

I was a bit curious about the finishes too but it looks like he has the whole holofoil, cracked ice and canvas finish thing down pat... Glossy finish possible? Out of sheer curiosity, what did these set you back financially all up?

Yeah the base style card bottom right and the MEMPHIS cards have a regular type finish.
The 12 cards cost me about $145/150 AUD
 
Damnnnn - guys has mad skills. Looks great man, so little quality Knicks Kyle O'Quinn stuff I'd consider this down the line for something for the collection if it kept drying up - the amount of cards Panini put out and they leave out the majority of the league in their releases it's annoying

Yeah man it's annoying for sure.
Ennis starts for Memphis and still gets no base etc as it's always a Gasol fest yet guys on teams where there are no "Stars" feature in every release. Still I am stoked to have these
