Here are some cards you don't see very often. A Larry Bird Hoops 100 Superstars card that was from a set sold only at Sears stores, a Jiri Welsch Platinum Medallion, a very nice Paul Pierce card with a different shape, and an Abdelnaby card that was needed to complete the Boston set of them.

They had Hoops 100 Superstars sets for three years, and now I have all the Bird cards. The picture shows them next to the regular card, the Sears card is on the right.

That could be all the Abdelnaby cards, with him in a Celtics uniform. Maybe, it doesn't seem like a lot. Australian basketball fans may remember watching a Channel 10 NBA game, Boston v Cleveland, Abdelnaby had 14 points on perfect shooting that game. Possibly the only game he ever did anything in. His cards may not be the greatest but he could shoot the ball, around 60% from the field in college and 50% in the NBA.

I love seeing all the obscure celt players you post up. I didn't know about the sears set so that was interesting. Nice pick ups.

It's nice to see something a bit different to the norm, it's not all about Patches and auto's.

Those Hoops 100 cards are tough to find as well as a basketball player from Egypt.

Sweet new additions and a nice little story behind it.

Alaa Abelnaby! The first card in many sets.... Love that Paul Pierce Die Cut - what set is that from?

Thank you for having a look at the Boston cards. I hope to find more obscure Celtics cards, but it isn't easy as that is the definition of obscure. I should have scanned my Shelden Williams Boston card, I don't think I put that on here before, as he was an obscure player that managed to get in a recent set.

Operation Invasion, Fleer Force 99-00. It is a very interesting shape, something different. Abdelnaby may not have been a top player, but alphabetically he was usually first. Not sure how many times he was first in a set, they often started with Atlanta in the sets and someone like John Battle was the first card. Not sure, but maybe Abdelnaby has the same shoes that Dee Brown had at that time, although Abdelnaby wasn't in any dunk contests.

Love the oddball sears cards!! Nice lot of Alaa!! I have a handfull of 1990-91 Hoops 100 superstars if you are interested. I posted the Lakers A.C. Green, Byron Scott and a couple others on ebay right now for cheap! Still have more at home I would love to get rid of.
