Kyrie Irving to decide on AUS or USA soon!

No way dude! Kyrie will be the star if he plays for AUS! he isnt even guaranteed to make the Team USA roster id he decides to play for them!

Rose,Billups,CP3,Deron all ahead of him.

IRVING TO AUS!

It should be simple mathematics. For the next decade he might be behind C Paul, D Rose, D Williams, J Wall, R Westbrook.

If he plays for Australia he gets a chance at a medal, silver or bronze, every four years and gets to be the star player.

Byron Mullens will probably play for Great Britain, it will be a tad easier for him to get a game for them than for Team USA.

no doubt he would be the star, but the question is, is that all you want? if he backs himself, works hard, he may get a shot in the US team. do you want to play for the best, or be the best for another country...? australia have never won a medal at the games so hes got just as much chance at some shiny rock whether he plays for the boomers for the next 12 years or gets into just one US team in his entire career.
if it were me, id try for the top instead of settling for a lesser sure thing.

Hope he plays for AUS too :D but would understand if he plays for the US. But why do the US have to be the best?! the sport is played all around the world we will get a gold one day! ;)

/\/\ not in irvings career they wont...
i only mean US are the best because of their record. hes pretty much gauranteed a medal if he gets a run for the US.

mmmm possibly I guess will just have to wait and find out. Playing in the Olympics may never happen if he trys for the US and if he makes one what happens if Spain, Argentina etc we are ranked 9th in the world :D

its risk and reward i guess. if he risks playing for the US and gets in, hes got a very good chance at a gold. if he takes no risk and plays for the boomers hes got a very good chance to win nothing.

I can definitely see the reasoning for coming here to play for the boomers, and I follow the nbl and Aussie basketball unlike 95% of people on this forum...... BUT! If he wants medal he'll try his hardest to get on that US roster in the coming years, if he wants to get a lot of game time and be the star, he'll play for the boomers. We may well be ranked 9th in the world but we consistently fail at major competitions and really, outside the big 3 in US, Spain and Argentina there is a MASSIVE gap!!
