I reckon there will be 10's of thousands of Sonics fans just about ready to behead him after that one
COMMISSIONER STERN: This is going to be short for me. I have a game to get to in Oklahoma City. But I am able and we're able to report to you that the NBA Board of Governors voted to reject the relocation of the Sacramento Kings to Seattle.
That's good for the Kings as I don't like to see fan's stripped of there team, but it sucks for Seattle since they were stripped originally. I really hope the Sonics come back!
Im happy Sac gets to keep their team but just the way this Stern mug rubs in the fact Seattle don't have a team and won't be getting one any time soon.
Really? "This is going to be short for me. I have a game to get to in Oklahoma City", what a Penis!
This incoming guy sounds like he has some plans on the matter though which is a good sign.
I didn't know this but 19 out of the 26 Kings seasons have been sell outs. Thats pretty impressive. Get the administration right off the court in the franchise and the rest will follow again. As much as I would love to see the sonics back kudos to the Kings for keeping their team. Now make the most of it.
PS Heard a rumour the NBA is going to give the Sonics an expansion team anyway
Sonics expansion team wouldn't be until at least 2016/17 from what I've read. New TV contract comes in for either that season, or the one before.
Good on the Kings for keeping their team. Two wrongs don't make a right - the NBA were far more transparent with this process than with the Sonics heist - which is a good thing.
While I agree that I had a love for the Sonics and Key Arena, I just think it shouldn't come at the death of the Sacramento Kings. I'm happy to see them stay in the NBA (for now) and hope a new team in Seattle can be created from fresh. The amount of teams that swap, keep records, have different names is becoming a bit ridiculous. Keep it real NBA.
