i am just wondering, whether mods can disable some access to forums - only to members not to guests?? but to web spiders.. LOL, maybe i am asking too much... but guests and spiders can be screened hopefully.

that will pull more members being registered to this site...

coz without loggin in, we all can see everything what's going on with this site and some people will not have any curiosity or any sorts.. and they won't even take a minute to register..

especially forums like card discussion, maildays, box breaks and NBA/NBL basketball.... they attract big hits to the site.

I know on the HPI baja forums you get like 5 or 6 free looks then you have to register

That's a good way to look at it - and I agree.

You don't want countless members who sign up, see what's here and then leave.

If people have signed up after visiting the site obviously they saw something they want to be a part of.

I agree with you Jimbo; we already have hundreds of unactive members; that would be in the thousands if you had to sign up to look around.

There have been plenty of times I jump onto to the site when Im at the gf's house or uni and dont log on.

I say keep it the way it is; in fact I reckon if you dont log on for 6 months, I reckon you should be booted off.

i don't know what do you mean by that, because by being all viewable, we don't know people who really want to be here,.. it's like we are all grouped and put it in the spotlight LOL..


I was suggesting some forums to be disabled.. not all...

it's no use when other people come here and enjoy our heated discussion for fun... everyone sees what members do LOL. yet, we don't know who is seeing us... then again, every guest knows who we are... espeically those with photos, personal stories and etc etc..

of course it's good to let everyone view like maildays... but then again, it's no privacy to members when someone just uses our maildays and try to post in other sites for scam or selling on ebay??? i mean, just an example.. i am not serious anyway LOL

that loses confidentiality to this site as well as stickiness of the site.. people will just come and see, and will never participate....

I am not worried about the quantity of members.. i just stated that coz as much as we are gaining members, we are losing members on the other hand, we can see active members list grows as entire member list does.

registration simply means we have to put some efforts to participate here, not only trade here.. by registering, Mods can monitor who or which ip... and it's much easier to manage..


anyway, i am just wondering... coz i sometimes think...don't want to feel like i am in a display box..

What's the point in being part of a FORUM website where you only "show up"? With exception from Admin, as they monitor most stuff, but don't post all that often.

But look at some of these members:

There's about 60-odd members that have 0 posts.
Most having joined 2 years ago.

Most members don't even post an intro. They join, get a look, and piss off.

Make it like hotmail or something, if your account is inactive for X amount of days it closes your account?

I agree fully; especially about members joining and then NEVER posting; its one thing to jump on every so often, as a lot of people may not have the time, easy access to the net or maybe having a hiatus from the hobby, but to never post? whats the point of joining?

As do I, who cares if there is 500 members when only 140 get on in a month.

Let's boot them!! Clear the inactive list!!
