In the last few games of basketball ive played in there has been a few refs
decisions that i have respectly disagreed with ... and a few that i though were terrible... but mostly, i cop it and hope that they even themselves out (apart from the time a ref told me I needed to work on my jump shot, to which i told him to go f*** himself, for which i earned a tech, wasnt real happy about).
This one however, simply bamboozled me.
without going into it too much, one of my teammates commited a hard foul, and the guy he fouled took exception to it and threw the ball at him.
Because the opposition player was in the act of shooting, it was 2 shots, and a tech for throwing the ball... or thats what i thought.
According to the ref, they cancel each other out. Somehow they ended up with the ball baseline.
Im not really sure what happened, and while the refs were young (17-19), we pay 35 bucks a game as team and 2 dollars in get into the stadium, so honestly, i expect them to be at least alright refs, and if somebody asks a question, for them to answer them, and not yell back.
Any explaination of this ruling, which didnt happen in our game the week before under similar circumstances, would be very handy, so i can explain it to my teammates, who are as perplexed as me
Cheers
