I finally decide to lash out and buy a few Chris Duhon cards on eBay and what happens ???

I am out bid by someone here

Now I know the person here has done NOTHING wrong so don't think I am saying they have I am just venting my frustration !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a FIRM believer that there are no friends when bidding on eBay, if you want something you bid, it doesn't matter if you know the person or if they collect the card you are biddig on - It's your right to bid on what you want no matter what you intend to do with the card but never-the-less it's still annoying !

There vent completed

i understand what your saying, this is probably one of the toughest probs i have when ebaying, if i see a member bidding i have to think long and hard as to how bad i want it and not to get in to a bidding war.
Look on the bright side, you might get to trade it and better yet you now have some more time to find possibly a better card.

What I do now is I don't even look at who is bidding on the item. I have a price in my head, I bid and so be it. That way I don't have to worry about who's bidding for what.

Yup that's a good idea....

As I said I am all for outbidding a member here if you want the card that bad, it's your right to do so ! It's just frustrating when it happens to you

Anyways I PM'd the member concerned and said it's fair game and only wanted to mention it was me he was outbidding just in case he was bidding on it for a trade with me

its also hard to tell some members ebay id's (you havnt got yours listed in your profile) because they sometimes arent the same as the members user name.

I quite often will think twice about bidding on something if someone from here is bidding on it...there's probably no need to do so though like you said Richo, its fair game

Now you may remember the little issue that I had with AJ is Snoring.

I can relate to this but I can't say that I got outbidded and lost the auction to Shane aka AJ is Snoring.

My vent at the time with Shane, was because he pushed me to my max bid all the time for more than half of my Iverson Finest Moments Autograph; so I have had to pay close and a few times over $300US for them.

Now that we have mutually agreed for him to back-off and leave it to me, so I can complete the set, I've now have recently won them for $200 max.

So yeah Richo, I can relate.

I understand what you mean. I rarely bid if someone here is the highest bidder, unless I desperately need the card.

Ive seen cards that i though were pretty sweet, but if someone of ozcards is the leading bidder and its a card they want for a collection, player or set, i dont bid. But if they are just bidding cos it looks nice and its going cheap, thats fair game.

Thanks for all your responses....I was just venting but at the end of the day I think all cards are fair game (as Matty said) so I have no beef with the person at all. I am sure I have outbid a person or two here so I should expect it to happen to me occasionally.

i understand ur feeling, but it's not a strange thing..(unless if u want to add more postcounts)...

usually, i myself outbid scottsophie at least 100 times.. sometimes he wins, sometimes i do.. if i saw the card first, he had to outbid me too.. but i think it's too early to say things someone's trying to outbid just to trade with ya...

I politely repllied you my bid and u can always outbid at +1 cent (which is fair $12.27).. people here are not stupid and if u make a statement like this without asking me... they can just login ebay and type chris duhon, there you go, they will just see me as an Arse... i don't understand why you just try to make nothing to be something bad..???

I know u have nothing against me, but at least, ask me first would be nice.. ( the reason i am collecting one auto/one player if u haven't noticed.. 350+ ebay transactions buying, more than half of the feedback of me is buying). and you used different eBay id none close to the alphabet Richo.. and the seller might want to sell higher, (for ur favoirite duhon u bid just 50 cents above listed bid..)

and, i just won some cards from the seller (who's also from here).. so at least, you should probably think someone's looking for combined postage rather than "buy and trade with me scenerio".. why would i buy to trade with ya?? i just don't get it.. if i am looking for feedbacks, i would never send 10+ free packages to members here...

i no longer enjoy this... it's totally absurb...

well, the card is still avaiable... i told Richo to outbid me..which is still less than $13..
but it's totally unnecessary ya know.. he can message me (which he did while i was away and started this before i can respond), if required, i could ask the seller (member here) to cancel my bid..

but this makes me look like I am just trying to outbid to trade... especially, cards less than $10 current bid. and not yet ended. I just don't get it...

Honestly, that was my initial bid, if i want to win it, i will bid my final price before the auction ends...And Finest RC Refractor Auto /79 wouldn't end that cheap, even if i don't bid again. someone else will.. so, why waste the posts???

I do not appreciate people when mods always advise to settle things in private.. if it's $100 card PC.. i would back down.. or at least, publish eBAy Id.....

and how can a person win a card if he bids 50 cents above the listed price.. for finest auto rc refractor /79???

I think i have to leave here to collect cards since i collect one player/one auto... that is pretty much big conflicts with 95% of members here.. coz 5% do not collect basketball cards.. thanks for that.

FYI, I even need ray allen exquisite 05-06 to complete my set

Dont leave over this Linn...you are a good member, and i know u send out free cards, as you sent me a nice Ray Allen SP Sig card, there is no need to leave...I have been outbid by people from ozcards before, or i have not sent the best offer when they sell on here and lost out, it doesnt matter, coz at the end of the day they are just pieces of cardboard with a photo

like i said i dont think Richo meant to offend you or even let people know who it was, so, you should stay!

Sounds like Linn gave you every opportunity to win the card and you still didn't. There will be others on ebay, why you feel the need to make her feel bad about it is beyond me, very poor if you ask me.

i don't think he meant to offend me at all.. but i thought it was just totally unnecessary.... and i honestly thought richo75 (which i have seen many times) was his eBay id, so i just bid the only auto card (there are some other auctions of duhon currently)...and i never bid away...

i just felt being a member here making me think no room to bid on eBay.. and i didn't snipe or win the card yet. it hasn't even ended yet.. i reckon this kind of post pressure other fellow members and make them not to bid freely..

with this case..another question came into my mind.. what is more important??

personal collection? or master set of a single player? or specific set of a product? or eBay bargains?

we have alot of options regarding eBay here.. hill33 provided us another eBay ID filed.. and etc.. i was just shocked i got mentioned...

anyway, thanks for being so supportive.. I really appreciate it.. actually you are a great member here..... always there when someone needed help and always active...

I dont think any one of those things is more important, its what ever you collect thats important to you and we all collect different things...I can imagine ozballer, scottsophie, kuvenile, etc all bid onthe same cards quite often as they all collect JR Smith, and there never seems to be a problem there...In all honesty, i had a look at the auction, and i dont think Richo would have won for what he bid, so if he didnt lose to you, he would have lost to someone else....I say keep bidding on whatever you want, Richo bids on whatever he wants and whoever bids more wins...Its also not fair to the seller to say dont bid on something coz someone else already has, it meansthey will sell their cards for less...

Ling dont worry about anyone on ebay but yourself and what YOU want to pay for a card...if it doesn't suit members here who gives a rats ass really? It's your money and you can spend it on whatever u bloody well like.

Even I didnt bid, i don't think finest RC Auto Refractor /79 would not end 5 cents above listed price...I made an initial bid just to keep the auction in myEbay..(coz watch items are used only to watch and have always 100+ items)

The seller is ozcard member.. it's not fair for seller that i should leave the card alone because of another one bidding..(that is not fair for another fellow member/seller here). the seller would want to sell at higher price as well.. coz if i don't bid, someone else will.. i was willing to pay $25 for that card..

And there's card collector named richo75 (duhon seller ATM) and PKB15 (duhon bidder ATM)?? i saw richo75 is selling cards.. so, a person using two accounts??? and now telling me It's not cool to bid if i am to use a trade-bait.. when the seller is also from here..

to be honest.. i hardly look at the bidders when i bid.. i would pay what i can.. and i always honour what i bid.. i bid about 200 items every week and usually win 10-20% of total, if i get annoyed for being outbid.. i'll be seeing shrink everyday...
