Not sure if Matt26 is able to pass this on to Panini or if any Panini guys are on here but thought it'd be a good idea to see what we're looking for (as the card collecting community) in cards in the future.
Basically just post in here what you'd like to see in future sets.
For me after seeing the Bron then Griffin dunks over the past few days it got me thinking it'd be cool to have those moments (or any big moments from players) in card form with the details and date it happened on the card like the old game dated set back in the days.
What I.d really like to see is a gu shoe cards back in the mix sometime down the track, again with details on the game in which they were worn ie: On 30/01/12 Griffin wore these kicks in a game that saw him soar above Perkins for a huge jam etc. etc. with the pic of the posterizing and a nice piece of shoe on the front.
I'd like to see them put out a high end product with a NO redemption card in product Garauntee, may sound like a whinge but I would actually commit to buying it and wouldn't have a problem buying it in the future when a pass by date would of been passed...
Panini are already making shoe cards. In the NFL though.
Personally I would like to see a lower end autograph set that anybody could collect. With the auto's not shortprinted to /1, /5,/10,/25 etc. Make a huge set with Kobe with all the auto's /1000 thats what I want to see ohh and on card.
I would like to see them get rid of manufactured patchs. I personally don't hate them, but I don't particuarly like them either. Any material in the card I want to be game used, otherwise leave it out. I think things like manufactured logomen also confuse new hobbyists and would hate to think anybody would be buying these types of cards not knowing they were manufactured.
I like the idea of date stamping and using 'highlight' moments on the card.
They got close to the idea in the 09/10 Season Update release where the first 20 cards in the base set were 'moments' from the season so far. Things like the All Star attendence record, Jennings' 55pt Game, Evans winning ROY etc.
It would be great to see some of the more entertaining highlights being carded, not just the official record breakers and formal awards.
id like to see award winners inserts honouring those that killed it last season, including All NBA/Defensive/Rookie teams. i would also like to see the demise of all manufactured patches. and 'event worn' material.
Yer it's confusing....I've seen a few NFL breaks, are NFL cards any good to collect? I'm a massive Packers fan so thinking of starting a Greg Jennings PC, only a small one but still

I'd go as far to say that there designs are better than the NBA. They certainly put alot more effort into getting on card auto's aswell. If you are going to collect anyone from the Packers collect Randall Cobb. Heaps of nicer cards and very affordable.

Yer NFL cards look great. Cobb is going to be a stud in a few years, really good rookie, got noticed with his kick TD return from 8 yards back in the end zone in week 1 vs the Saints I was hoping to collect Rodgers, but I can imagine the prices will be big for him.

Good idea but Panini don't listen to their customers which you can see from the "official" thread that was setup like this when they first came onto the scene.
