G'day,
I have a funny feeling that this topic has been flogged to death already, but this is my situation.
I'm currently selling a collection of Basketball cards and a Fleer 86 Jordan Rookie on Ebay and I have received endless amounts of Emails from people telling me that It's not genuine and that It's a reprint.
I purchased the card off a respected power seller from the states called focusdesignz for a large amount because they guaranteed me that this was genuine. I obviously have nowhere in Australia to have it authenticated and It is very similar to the graded one I have. I also thought that all reprints have the stamp on the back. The auction ends Sunday and I have people very interested in this card, what can I do If this does turn out to be fake?
Because I purchased it a long time ago off the mentioned seller, can I still report them and hopefully get some money back? or is it to late, and what If the winning bidder on Sunday has it graded and it turns out to be fake?

If anyone has suggestions or similar experiences please let me know, I have noticed that this seller has sold many other ungraded Jordan Rookies for a similar price.

If it was me I would stop the auction send the Jordan rc to be graded and if it comes back o.k. you will get better money for it, if I was ever going to buy a Jordan RC it would only be a graded one. As for if it comes back as a fake I don't think you would have a hope in hell of getting your $$$$ back, as it was a long time ago that you purchased it. Good luck.

I have never sent anything away to be graded and sending cards across the other side of the globe sounds a bit daunting but is this a safe process as you continually hear about items missing, being damaged or receiving the wrong cards back in the mail. Has anyone sent cards off to be graded?

We just got cards back from PSA the other day. ;-) Ive had cards graded since they started grading and have only had the one bad experiance and that was with BGS. I wont use them any more and wont recommend them either. I too suggest to get it graded as they just may be right. If you were in Melb I'd be able to help more but if you just want an opinion send me a HIGH res scan front and back of the card. I've had Jordan RC's before deal with verification of cards and other issues in the hobby.]

There are PLENTY of fakes without the stamp and I've seen plenty passed of as real but end up being fake in lots or sets of them. Its a great way to try to pass it off as a point of confidence for a buyer.

I know it's a late reply, but I just saw this one.

As a side note, or suggestion/recommendation, I wouldnt be sending a Raw (ungraded) MJ Rook in, I've heard of stories from people who've pulled or traded for a pack and sent it in Raw, and next thing ya know, they've come back saying they're fake....

Suggesting that someone "inside" (not sure of Grading Comp.) had replaced it with a Reprint of their own.

Can you post up scans, I wanna see it.
